Complete my Sibset- share your opinion!

Hello! I’m due in [name_f]December[/name_f] with our fourth baby, gender will be a surprise. Our last name is two syllables, ends in “erd” sound (think [name_m]Clifford[/name_m], [name_m]Richard[/name_m] or Willard)

[name_f][/name_f]

Current children’s names:

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m]

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] (Winnie) [name_f]Rose[/name_f]

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Rowan[/name_m] [name_m]Michael[/name_m]

[name_f][/name_f]

If it’s a girl we more or less have the name picked out. The leading option is my husband’s grandmother’s name, [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]. I really like [name_f]Holiday[/name_f] as a middle name (Elsie Holiday) since we will be in [name_f]December[/name_f]. I also like the names [name_f]Jovie[/name_f], [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], Marigold… there are lots of great girl names to choose from, I feel pretty confident that we will be able to figure out a name if it’s a girl!

[name_f][/name_f]

I share these girl names just to give a feel for our naming style. I like something that is both established and traditional yet unexpected and easy to pronounce. The real trouble is coming up with a BOY name!

[name_f][/name_f]

Last time I was pregnant we were split between [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] and [name_m]Everett[/name_m]. [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] won, obviously, but now my husband is suggesting [name_m]Everett[/name_m] again and I am just kind of ambivalent about it. [name_f]My[/name_f] two kids who are old enough to care about such matters wailed in protest when I told them that was the main contender, but I’m not sure how much weight to give to their opinions. They’ll get used to whatever we pick, right!? Anyway, in a discussion with my husband I suggested the middle name [name_m]Friday[/name_m] and I was delighted that he was up for it! Usually he doesn’t go for non-name names. I will be having a scheduled C on a [name_m]Friday[/name_m] and this will be our last child, like the last day of the workweek, haha, so it seems fitting and really appeals to us. So here we are, with [name_m]Everett[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m] as our top pick, but I can’t help but wondering: [name_f][/name_f] does this really go with the other sibling names? [name_m]Can[/name_m] we do better? I don’t LOVE [name_m]Everett[/name_m] as much as I want to. Does that matter?

[name_f][/name_f]

Other boy names I like:

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Callum[/name_m] or [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_m]Archie[/name_m]

[name_f][/name_f]

…there are honestly so many more

[name_f][/name_f]

Tell me what else you think would go with [name_m]Friday[/name_m] as a middle name for a boy, as well as go along with the existing sibling names. [name_f]My[/name_f] head is just kind of spinning at this point!

[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Holiday[/name_f] is so charming!

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Everett[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m] is super cool too [name_f][/name_f]- it does fit with your kids: established but contemporary!

[name_f][/name_f]

Still, if you’re not feeling it as much as you want to, I’d say keep looking!

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Callum[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m] would be nice, as would [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]!

[name_f][/name_f]

I’ll also throw in the suggestions of…

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Ellison[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Casper[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Jonah[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Alec[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Elliott[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Evan[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Barrett[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Elias[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Beckett[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Elian[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Tobias[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Russell[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Emerson[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Leonard[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]

I love [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]. All your names are great and work with what you have, hopefully you get some clarity when baby arrives.

I love Elsie Holiday, and Friday is such a cool choice for a middle! I agree that Callum Friday would work really nicely.

Some suggestions:

Miles Friday
Theo / Theodore Friday
Declan Friday
Ellis Friday
Wyatt Friday
Alden Friday
Emmett Friday
Oliver Friday
Jasper Friday
Arlo Friday
Silas Friday
Raphael Friday
Vincent Friday
Leander Friday

[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Holiday[/name_f] is just delightful [name_f][/name_f] I also like [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] ‘Goldie’ with [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] ‘Winnie’!

[name_f][/name_f]

I love the idea of [name_m]Friday[/name_m], such fun. [name_m]Everett[/name_m] is okay but I don’t love it stylistically with your other children. From your other choices I think [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] or [name_m]Archie[/name_m] would be spot on! [name_m]Archie[/name_m] Friday?! Adorable.

[name_f][/name_f]

To fit ‘established and traditional yet unexpected and easy to pronounce’ I would suggest…

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Albert[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m] ‘Bertie’
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Percy[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Rufus[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Tristan[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Ezra[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Toby[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]

Thank you! I do possibly like [name_m]Callum[/name_m] the best on my list. [name_m]Barrett[/name_m] and [name_m]Felix[/name_m] are great as well, I appreciate all your suggestions!

Thank you! [name_m]Ellis[/name_m] has been in and out of consideration because it’s the ending of my husband’s mother’s maiden name. [name_f][/name_f] Maybe we need to get it back on the list!

Thank you! I agree about [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] and [name_f]Goldie[/name_f] and might consider [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Holiday[/name_f] because my first name is a flower name and so is my daughter’s middle name…but I do like [name_f]Holiday[/name_f], so that’llbe a tough choice!

[name_f][/name_f]

I agree about [name_m]Archie[/name_m] though, [name_f][/name_f] I do keep coming back to that one.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Kit[/name_m] is a special favorite of mine and I like [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] and [name_m]Percy[/name_m], I appreciate all of the suggestions!

Two things up top: don’t listen to your kids re names. My then 8 year old sister stopped my parents from picking a way nicer name than my own (Eloise is my middle) and to add to injury, decades later used that very name for her child.

Second, my parents chickened out of a plan to use Last as my youngest brother’s middle name, and ny youngest brings it up yearly, to say that he wishes they’d stick with it. I am sure a spunky youngest will love Friday as a middle - or something equally fun and meaningful.

And yes, Everett goes! It’s handsome. Does it flow though once last name in play?

Some others:

Felix (though maybe not with Friday)
Arthur
Hugo
Silas
Dashiell
Conrad
Murphy
Thomas
Atticus
Julian
Ambrose
Connor
Patrick
Fletcher
Jasper
Christopher - Kit
Oliver

Elspeth, Elsbeth, Elisabeth & Eloise there for a longer name for Elsie (to square up with Winfred) if needed…and Ivy/ Holly/ Noelle for a shorter xmas name if you want long then short.

[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] or [name_f]Jovie[/name_f] [name_f]Holiday[/name_f] are so cute!

[name_f][/name_f]

I think I would probably go with [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] or [name_m]Callum[/name_m] for a first name.

[name_f][/name_f]

A few other suggestions I think match the other children nicely and go with [name_m]Friday[/name_m]:

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Tristan[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Brennan[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Rhett[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Irving[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m]

[name_f][/name_f]

Potential stand-ins for [name_m]Everett[/name_m]: [name_f]Ellery[/name_f], [name_f]Emery[/name_f], [name_m]Emmett[/name_m], [name_m]Evan[/name_m]?

[name_f][/name_f]

Hopefully these help!

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m], [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] (Winnie) [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] [name_m]Michael[/name_m] and…

[name_f][/name_f]

I think [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] as the middle name for [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] (if baby is a girl) is a sweet combo, it’s the obvious nod to being born in [name_f]December[/name_f] and flows well too.

[name_f][/name_f]

For a boy, I think [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] goes with the sibset perfectly.. I’m not sure on [name_m]Friday[/name_m] though.. here’s some alternatives to consider:

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Emrys[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- means ‘Divine’ ‘Strength’ and ‘Wisdom’
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Asa[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- means ‘born in the morning’
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Kofi[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- means ‘born on a Friday’
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Noel[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- the [name_f]French[/name_f] word for [name_f]Christmas[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- means ‘bringer of treasure’

[name_f][/name_f]

I think [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Noel[/name_m] and [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] Emerys sound strong and go really well with the sibset.

Firstly LOVE your kids names!

[name_f][/name_f]

I also adore [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Holiday[/name_f] such a charming name :pink_heart:

[name_f][/name_f]

I think [name_m]Everett[/name_m] is handsome name classic with this gentlemanly distinguished vibe. I think [name_m]Everett[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m] is handsome.

[name_f][/name_f]

However looking at your extended list I prefer [name_m]Callum[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f]he’s soft, handsome, tranquil with a lovely meaning tied to nature along with the sweet nickname [name_m]Cal[/name_m]. I think [name_m]Callum[/name_m] sounds outdoorsy and provides a sweet upper crust [name_f]British[/name_f] flair to the overall sibling set.

[name_f][/name_f]

Looking at your other options I really like [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] which feels warm, cosy and sweet along with [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] which feels strong, handsome and regal. From these two paired with [name_m]Friday[/name_m] I prefer [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m] just feels stylistically more cohesive as a pairing.

[name_f][/name_f]

So I think over [name_m]Everett[/name_m] I prefer [name_m]Callum[/name_m] + [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] :blue_heart:

[name_f][/name_f]

You’ve had lots of lovely suggestions so count any repeats as me being in agreement with the berries

I like [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] as the extended form of [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], and I appreciate all your other suggestions, too!

[name_f][/name_f]

And yeah, can’t give TOO much weight to the other kids’ opinions, haha! [name_f]My[/name_f] son is in a [name_m]Scooby[/name_m] Doo phase and wants me to name the new baby after one of the gang. Did you know Shaggy’s real name is [name_m]Norbert[/name_m]? Yeah, that’s NOT happening! Lol

Very helpful, [name_f][/name_f] thank you!

Yeah, I definitely don’t want to get too hung up on this middle name just because I fleetingly thought it was cool! I appreciate your suggestions and [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] has been a stand out for me among those options I listed!

Yes! Thanks for taking the time to respond. I feel like [name_m]Callum[/name_m] is pulling out ahead of [name_m]Everett[/name_m] based on the feedback here.

Be careful, someone on here will try to convince you of Norbert!

I posted in middle of night and didn’t see the other boys - I think Callum, Malcolm and Alexander (Xander) would be great bridge names with Henry, Winnie & Rowan, and fab in own right too. :sheaf_of_rice:

Henry, Winnie, Rowan & Xander would be my pick - though I see why Callum is especially handsome with Rowan, and Malcolm is so trusty and charming and really fits the vibe.

Henry, Winifred, Rowan & Elspeth would be super cool! So literary and chic! :ribbon:

[name_m]Callum[/name_m] is great, in general and with your kids. [name_m]Callum[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m] flows nicely.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] also sounds vintage and earthy with the others’ names, and you can never go wrong with [name_m]Alexander[/name_m].

[name_f][/name_f]

Seconding [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f].

Your children have lovely names! [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Holiday[/name_f] is a beautiful name, and so fun with your other three!

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Friday[/name_m] is so fun, too, and feels perfect for your family! [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Everett[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m] is lovely, and I really like [name_m]Everett[/name_m] with your other kiddos (at one point [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] and [name_m]Everett[/name_m] topped my own list; they feel like such a great pair to me!), but if you don’t love [name_m]Everett[/name_m] as much as you want to, I think there’s definitely more room to look! [name_f][/name_f] You should both love your baby’s name, after all!

[name_f][/name_f]

I like [name_m]Callum[/name_m] [name_m]Friday[/name_m] a lot, or even more, [name_m]Cullen[/name_m], though I’m not sure most share my love for him haha. [name_f][/name_f] Here’s a few other ideas:

We had our baby, it was a GIRL!!

[name_f][/name_f]

Although we had strongly considered [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], we found a name we thought suited our style better and her name is [name_f]Enid[/name_f] [name_f]Holiday[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

Now, I look at that name and somehow know that it should be pronounced “EE-nid” but we’ve already had people call her “Eh-nid” and someone also asked me if we were Hispanic at all. Perhaps because of it’s similar sounding to “Inez”? [name_f]In[/name_f] spite of these hiccups, I feel it is the perfect name for her and I’m thrilled that we decided on it. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
