Concerned about the ending of baby first and last name being similar

[name_f]My[/name_f] wife and I like the Name Grayson/Gray. Our last name is [name_m]Petersen[/name_m]. I prefer [name_u]Gray[/name_u] as the first name. [name_f]My[/name_f] wife prefers [name_u]Grayson[/name_u]. [name_f]My[/name_f] only concern with [name_u]Grayson[/name_u] is that it may sound funny/not flow well with both first and last name ending with son/sen and sounding the same.

[name_u]Grayson[/name_u] [name_m]Petersen[/name_m]
vs.
[name_u]Gray[/name_u] [name_m]Petersen[/name_m]

I don’t think [name_u]Grayson[/name_u] [name_m]Petersen[/name_m] is too repetitive. The difference in syllables and spelling helps. However, I do think [name_u]Gray[/name_u] [name_m]Petersen[/name_m] sounds better!

[name_u]Grayson[/name_u] [name_m]Peterson[/name_m] does sound a bit too much to me, unfortunately. [name_u]Gray[/name_u] is a good alternative!

gray peterson sounds a bit like a sexual innuendo to me! greyson is a little repetitive but i don’t think it’s unusable!

I do kind of think the endings make the name sound repetetive… However some people do like that, I wonder if [name_u]Gray[/name_u] does run into your surname a little bit when standing alone though… I see the appeal of wanting a longer version. [name_m]Grayling[/name_m] is a type of fish I think, that’s pretty cool, there probably are various options here where you can find something that makes this name work with your surname.

[name_u]Grayson[/name_u] isn’t unusable but [name_u]Gray[/name_u] sounds a lot better with your surname

I would try to avoid two names ending in “son”. I think [name_u]Gray[/name_u] [name_m]Peterson[/name_m] sounds great!

i honestly much prefer grayson to just gray and i think it sounds fine with the surname

Hmm its ok but does rhyme. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like Grayton?

Yeah…it doesn’t sound very good together even though the spelling’s different, it sounds the same so, to me ,it’s too repetitive. [name_u]Gray[/name_u] [name_m]Petersen[/name_m] is adorable and flows so well!

I think [name_u]Grayson[/name_u] [name_m]Petersen[/name_m] sounds fine

I prefer [name_u]Gray[/name_u] [name_m]Peterson[/name_m]! Both names are lovely, but the son/sen is too much for me, personally. Good luck and congratulations!
