Conlan, Conall, Conrí

What are your thoughts on these three? They are on my list:

Conlan
Conall
Conrí

They are all Irish.

Conall means “rule of a wolf”
Conrí means “king of hounds”
Conlan means “hero” (apparently, I am not sure about this as the sources were not as reliable)

Please be honest, I won’t get upset.

My concern is that Conall will always get mixed up with Connell (they sound the same) which looks trendy to me (nothing wrong with it, just not my style). Conall is the original, from Irish mythology.

Also wondering about Conlan’s meaning as it would make more sense if it also meant something with wolf/hound.

Thank you! I also believe that [name_m]Connell[/name_m] isn’t that popular but I fear it will be because there is a character in the book/TV series “Normal People” named this. I didn’t love the character so [name_m]Connell[/name_m] is just not for me.

[name_m]Conlan[/name_m] is my favorite, I think it sounds cool and fresh! I do agree it seems like it should mean something wolf/canine related, as the other [name_u]Con[/name_u]- names all seem to.

[name_m]Conall[/name_m] really reminds me of [name_m]Conan[/name_m] O’Brien, which is odd because the name [name_m]Conan[/name_m] itself doesn’t.

Conrí is cool and sweet. I’m not sure if the first syllable is pronounced “cone” or “con” but I like it either way!

I like the sounds of [name_m]Conall[/name_m] and that sp is nice! It might get spelled as [name_m]Connell[/name_m] due to the popularity of Normal People but maybe not?

Conri is so cool! I love names with that i ending and I’ve never come across it.

[name_m]Conlan[/name_m] could grow on me but I don’t find it rolls off the tongue like the others

I like [name_m]Conall[/name_m]. I don’t think it will be mixed up with [name_m]Connell[/name_m], in fact, I don’t think of it all. [name_m]Connell[/name_m] seems like an entirely different name than [name_m]Conall[/name_m]. The ‘rule of the wolf’ meaning is powerful.

I have never heard of Conrí or [name_m]Conlan[/name_m], although out of the two I would be sure to pick Conrí. For some reason I am fixated on the con- sound of [name_m]Conlan[/name_m] that reminds me of the word con/conman to me even if all the other names have the same starting. It just sticks out to me. It isn’t bad in itself. I still like it.

In order of most liked to least liked:

[name_m]Conall[/name_m]
Conrí
[name_m]Conlan[/name_m]

ETA: I do think it would make more sense if Conlan’s meaning relates to hound/wolf somehow.
