Considering Florian

Hello! I have another name I would love to know your thoughts on! [name_u]Florian[/name_u] has been on my mind for a while and if I could convince my husband I would strongly consider giving it to our next little boy. Thoughts? I don’t mind if it sounds feminine, I have no problem with femininity on a boy (if it’s a legitimate name), I mean I have a [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and most people think he is a girl.

What middle names would you use? Something classic?

[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] is kind of what I was thinking…

[name_m]TY[/name_m] berries

I absolutely [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] [name_u]Florian[/name_u]! Such a gorgeous name for a boy. It reminds me of ancient [name_m]Rome[/name_m] and wildflowers. I also love [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] on a boy, and I think they’d be beautiful botanical sibling names!!

My only personal hesitation about the name is lack of nicknames. I suppose [name_m]Ian[/name_m] could work? ([name_f]Flo[/name_f] or [name_f]Flor[/name_f] could work maybe??) Something to think about.

What about:
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] (although that may be a little too botanical)

[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] feels a bit boring in my opinion, but there’s nothing wrong with it!

I like [name_u]Florian[/name_u]! It’s similar to [name_m]Fabian[/name_m], which is one of my favorites. I thought the same thing about lack of nicknames though, but [name_f]Flor[/name_f] is cool. [name_u]Florian[/name_u] goes nicely with [name_u]Rowan[/name_u].

[name_u]Florian[/name_u] fits very well with [name_u]Rowen[/name_u], as they have similar sounds. I personally prefer [name_u]Dorian[/name_u], [name_u]Darian[/name_u] or [name_m]Darius[/name_m]. But [name_u]Florian[/name_u] certainly pairs well. Also, I know more boy [name_u]Rowen[/name_u]'s than girl. ”

I personally prefer [name_u]Dorian[/name_u], but [name_u]Florian[/name_u] is a lovely name too. The nickname [name_f]Flori[/name_f] could be cute.

As for middle names, how about…

[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]Miles[/name_m]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]Milo[/name_m]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_u]Sky[/name_u]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]Graham[/name_m]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]Peter[/name_m]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]Clement[/name_m]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_u]Max[/name_u]

I think [name_u]Florian[/name_u] is handsome! I like it more than [name_u]Dorian[/name_u].
I don’t think it needs a nickname, but [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] would be fun and handsome!
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] is a good idea, I’d pick a traditional masculine middle name for [name_u]Florian[/name_u]. [name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]George[/name_m], [name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], [name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]Louis[/name_m] etc.

I really like [name_u]Florian[/name_u] but I don’t love [name_m]John[/name_m]. [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m] could be another fn choice!

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]Florian[/name_u]!!! Has that slightly rustic/woodsy feel of your other kid’s names but stands alone as well.

[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_u]River[/name_u]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_u]Robin[/name_u]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_u]River[/name_u]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]

I so so so so love [name_u]Florian[/name_u]! I wish my husband would consider it.

I really like [name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m]. Simple, solid [name_m]John[/name_m] balances out the “floweriness” of [name_u]Florian[/name_u] nicely. [name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] would also work very well for similar reasons.

Thank you everyone this has been super helpful and my husband says he likes [name_u]Florian[/name_u], so its on our short list

Loving [name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m], the classic masculine names balance it well.

Yes! [name_u]Florian[/name_u] is a sorely underappreciated name. I love its regal, European vibe.

I definitely think something classic would balance this name nicely. [name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] sounds just right.

I also like…
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]Peter[/name_m]

I really like [name_u]Florian[/name_u], the nickname [name_u]Finn[/name_u] is a good option. It does fit with your boys but the ending is pretty similar to [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]. [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] would also be a good choice. It means “wind” and is also a flower.
