Consistency in names

I like consistency in names. My name and all my sisters’ end in an ‘a’ sound.

My daughter’s are: [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and [name_f]Leah[/name_f]

We are expecting our fourth but I have not found an girl ‘a’ ending name that my husband agrees on. We both like [name_u]Carmen[/name_u] but it does not end with the right sound.

Is it odd not to continue the ‘a’ ending naming trend?

If it is a boy should we be consistent with the name ending like with the girls?

You said fourth child so didnt know about ending of one not listed.I dont think it necessary to end boys name in same sound as girls. But I do like the little "in common"thing with the girls.;;;;;;;;;;;[name_f]Nevaeh/name_f,[name_f]Cara[/name_f] , Carmena or Carmeena, [name_f]Cala or Kala,(pron. cal-a )not kayla),[/name_f],[name_f]Ellia (pron. elly-a)/name_f], Nayvia(pr.navy-a),[name_f]Carmelita orCarmeleeta,[/name_f],!, [name_f]Carma[/name_f], [name_f]Carmella[/name_f], [name_f]Carlita[/name_f], [name_f]Carmita[/name_f],;;;Kora,Nyra, Vala,Kita or Keta,Nola,Nora, Kera,

My son’s name ends in ‘o’ since there is only one consistency has not yet been established.

I think it is fine to do that, however I prefer to have more of a mix. I like to just choose a name that you both [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] and not have to follow a narrow criteria to get there. Either way is fine though.

Thanks

I am being the stickler. It has taken a long time to get a name we both like and now I am torn between making it a middle name (which would likely use) or to break my family’s girl naming trend.

I keep hoping to find an a-ending name that we can both get excited about (unique, elegant, simple…)

Maybe there is a middle name option you can pair with your other daughters. [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and [name_f]Leah[/name_f]'s first names sound the same, but maybe you can make it so [name_f]Leah[/name_f] and [name_u]Carmen[/name_u]'s middle names share a similar sound (or [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and [name_u]Carmen[/name_u]'s).
