Is it too much of a stretch? If so, I’d love to hear any clever suggestions. [name]Carrie[/name] and [name]Cara[/name] don’t seem just right. Thanks!!
For me [name]Cora[/name] is a bit of a stretch. If you don’t like [name]Carrie[/name] or [name]Cara[/name] how about [name]Aro[/name] ([name]Arrow[/name])?or [name]Line[/name] (Leene)? (In [name]German[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] is pronounced Karo-Leene).
I think it works perfect. [name]Lina[/name]?
Disregarding the movie…Why not [name]Coraline[/name]?
I think it’s too much of a stretch and could be confusing. I love [name]Cora[/name] on its own.
Is it a stretch? Yeah, a little bit. But if you name her [name]Caroline[/name] and always call her [name]Cora[/name], then that’s that. I think you can do it, if you’re confident in both the name and nickname.
I think I’d go with [name]Coraline[/name] nn [name]Cora[/name], if possible (i.e. [name]Caroline[/name] isn’t after a namesake). If [name]Caroline[/name] is THE [name]ONE[/name], then I agree with misshoppy
Ew they are both ugly names.
I think you could totally use [name]Cora[/name] for [name]Caroline[/name]!
I’d go with [name]Coraline[/name] if you want [name]Cora[/name], to me [name]Caroline[/name] would be [name]Cara[/name].
there is also the option of [name]Carol[/name].
Too much.
There’s [name]Caro[/name], [name]Ari[/name], [name]Cari[/name] (Car-ee), [name]Lili[/name], [name]Olly[/name], [name]Ro[/name].
When I saw [name]Cora[/name], I immediately thought the full name was [name]Coraline[/name], so in my head I was thinking “Why would someone ask if [name]Cora[/name] is a nickname for [name]Coraline[/name]?”
Then I noticed that the full name is actually [name]Caroline[/name], and it seems a bit of a stretch to me.
I think its really cute!! I don’t think [name]Caroline[/name] nn [name]Cora[/name] is a stretch at all. I think its really cute and unexpected, in a good way.
I mean, there are people whose nicknames don’t even relate to their real names at all… At least [name]Caroline[/name] nn [name]Cora[/name] still retains the same initial, and sounds.
I personally would use [name]Coraline[/name] nn [name]Cora[/name] but, I don’t see a problem with [name]Caroline[/name] nn [name]Cora[/name].
