I’ve had Corbin and Mavis nn Core and Mae together for a while now, but I can never find a sibling for them, because I’ve been stuck on the fact that I want it to be a nature name … but I don’t really like nature names.
Finally thought of Florian, which is one I’ve liked for a while, but hadn’t thought to put with Corbin and Mavis. I think he’s wonderful with them. Nature inspired, but not overwhelmingly woodsy. Soft, and slightly elegant.
I only have one concern. Do Corbin and Florian sound too alike? Would I call for one, and have the other come running? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
ETA: Middle name suggestions are also welcome.
Please answer kindly. Thanks in advance.

I think [name_m]Corbin[/name_m] and [name_m]Florian[/name_m] work fine as brothers. [name_m]The[/name_m] fl vs c beginnings are very distinctive and they’re a different number of syllables, so I think the similar sounds feel complementary rather than too close.
A different nickname could push them even further apart. [name_m]Flin[/name_m] or [name_m]Rian[/name_m] or [name_m]Rio[/name_m] would be very distinct from Core.

I do think [name_m]Corbin[/name_m] and [name_m]Florian[/name_m] share a few sounds, the “or” in the middle and the fact that they both end in “n” makes them feel slightly similar stylistically. But honestly, I don’t think it’s enough to be a real issue. Their beginnings feel very distinct to me, especially with the strong “b” sound in [name_m]Corbin[/name_m], and they each have such different overall vibes and syllables when spoken aloud.
I actually think [name_m]Florian[/name_m] fits beautifully with [name_m]Corbin[/name_m] and [name_f]Mavis[/name_f]. It has that soft, elegant, nature-inspired feel without sounding too earthy or overtly botanical, and all three names feel cohesive without being matchy. Core, [name_f]Mae[/name_f], and Flin/Ian is a lovely sibling set.

I don’t think they’re too similar, in my (English) accent the ‘or’ sound isn’t even the same because I’d say cor-bin like door, but flo-rian like the short ‘o’ in [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] (so hard to explain this because there isn’t an equivalent sound in US English). For me, [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] becomes the outlier in this set because she has more of a clunky vintage feel.
