It’s a beautiful, literary name with a gorgeous meaning. It reminds me of [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] and the sparky younger sister in Brideshead Revisited. Mythical, noble vibes with a hint of clunky-cool or old school posh.

I wouldn’t personally use it because Shakespeare’s [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] meets a deeply tragic end, but I’m a postgrad specialist in the plays so that’s probably more of a ‘me’ reason and I’d be very excited to meet a baby [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] :relaxed:

I absolutely love [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] :ocean:

[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is such a gorgeous Shakespearean name she’s bright, sparkly and majestic. She has the absolutely amazing meaning ‘daughter of the sea’ which as somebody who loves being by the sea is just perfect.

I love Cordelia! She’s gorgeously melancholic, buttoned up but mysterious, polished and clunky cool. And the meaning is just breathtaking

My main association is Cordelia from Cat’s Eye by Margaret Atwood, who is not a great character to be associated with but I love it anyways.

I think it’s gorgeous ! It would be higher on my list if I liked the nickname options more.

A beautiful underrated name with flair and strength. It would be in my top 5 girl names of all time. Nice meaning too.
I associate it more with the character from [name_f]Buffy[/name_f] than with [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] lol.

[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is very pretty and old fashioned! I think it would fit in well today with other names from the same period coming back.

It’s not a personal favorite, but I see the appeal. I think of the character from Buffy before anything else. The meaning of the name is uncertain because its origins are unknown. See this post: Name of the Week - British Baby Names

I like it. It feels old fashioned but in a good way and it feels ready to be used again especially with both [name_f]Cori[/name_f] & [name_f]Delia[/name_f] as options for nicknames.

[name_f]Beautiful[/name_f] name with a lot of nickname options. I’ve only ever met one [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], she’d be in her mid to late 20s now I think? It’s in that sweet spot of being familiar but uncommon. I’d love to see it used more.

We named our unborn daughter [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]. Best name ever.

[name_f]Gorgeous[/name_f] & elegant. It was on my list but dropped off only because I feel it needs a workable shortened form and the only one I could think of that people might actually intuitively use is [name_f]Cora[/name_f], which I like as a stand-alone but not as a diminutive for [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] as I feel it gives off utterly different vibes. Suppose [name_f]Delia[/name_f] is a possibility too, but while it’s pretty I’m not totally enamoured.

[name_f]My[/name_f] combo was [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Thebe[/name_f].
