Corrin pronunciation?

I posted the other day about the name Cora for a boy, and got a lot of people suggesting Corrin instead. Which seemed weird to me at first because the only way I’ve ever heard that name pronounced is cuh-RIN, but I just now realized you could probably also pronounce it CORE-in, just like Cora but with an -in instead of -a. I went to the nameberry page and there’s no pronunciation listed, so now I’m wondering - how do you pronounce Corrin? And do you pronounce Corinne differently?

I pronounce it KOR-inn, I pronounce [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] the same way but with the emphasis on the -INN part

CORE-in

I’ve met a [name_u]Corrin[/name_u] (b) and it was pronounced CORE-in. [name_f]Corrine[/name_f] is cuh-RIN to me.

I know a Corran, and he pronounces it CORE-in

[name_u]Corrin[/name_u] - CORE-in (like [name_u]Corbin[/name_u] but without the ‘b’)

[name_f]Corinne[/name_f] - Core-reen or Core-rhine

I think of [name_f]Corrine[/name_f] (cuh-RIN) as a feminine name, but [name_u]Corrin[/name_u] (CORE-in) feels quite neutral. The only [name_u]Corrin[/name_u] I know pronounces their name as CORE-in.

I’d pronounce it Cor-rinn, emphasis on the second syllable

I would pronounce it koh-rin.

I would guess CORR-in, like [name_m]Colin[/name_m] with an R. But I’ve never heard of [name_u]Corrin[/name_u] for a boy.

In my experience Corin or Corrin = KOH-rin or KOH-run

Corinne = KOH-rin or kuh-RIN, I’ve heard it both ways (for the same person)

If it was on a girl I’d assume it was an alternate spelling of [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] but on a boy I’d say it to rhyme with [name_m]Thorin[/name_m].

[name_f]Corinne[/name_f] - Co-REEN

[name_u]Corrin[/name_u] - COR-rin

I would pronounce [name_u]Corrin[/name_u] (and Corrine) like KOH-rin, emphasis on the first syllable, short “o” like cot, box, [name_m]Colin[/name_m] etc. Nice name :relaxed:

I’d say COH-rin, with the first vowel sound like that in “pot”.

[name_u]Corrin[/name_u] I’d probably initially guess as “CORE-in” but I would not be surprised if I was corrected to “cuh-RIN”, like [name_f]Corinne[/name_f].

I like [name_u]Corin[/name_u] more than [name_u]Corrin[/name_u], but I would say Corrin/Corin like CORE-in and [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] like cuh-RIN. I think [name_u]Corin[/name_u] is nice! I do like [name_m]Torin[/name_m] and [name_u]Corbin[/name_u] more than just Corin… but [name_u]Corin[/name_u] is nice, just not hugely my style.

Never heard of [name_u]Corrin[/name_u], but intuitively I thought Core-In. [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] is Cah-Rinn to me.

It may just be where I’m from and my dialect, but I do like [name_u]Corrin[/name_u] and do agree with an early poster about [name_u]Corbin[/name_u] being another alternative. That might be the safest bet to avoid confusion.
