iāve been thinking about the name courtney a lot lately and iām currently contemplating adding it to my (for once in my life!) very limited list
it ticks the boxes for s/o and i well;
easy to spell and say
popular during the 1970s-1980s
familiar enough to work today
flows nicely with surname
not super popular/not heard often today
but iām still a little bit iffy on it - iāve never known one so itās not as though a bad association has put me off, iām just not vibing with it as much as i figured i would? (tbf, Iām not vibing with any name like i usually do).
what are your thoughts on courtney? does it work nicely with my other picks (katherine, stephanie, elizabeth, karalee / mark, kevin)?
i quite like courtney! it has a cute sound, and i think it bridges your more timeless choices (katherine, elizabeth) with a name like karalee quite well. maybe if you want to get yourself more into it you could watch a film with a cool character called courtney? things like that really help me fall in love with names!
[name_u]Courtney[/name_u] is quite nice! It has a sort of sharpness to it and a confidence while also sounding approachable and sweet. It does fit with your other picks.
Iāve known two Courtneys - one who was quiet and gentle, the other who i admit seemed quite mean and outspoken sometimes, though was alright and more friendly if you spoke to her more one on one.
I like the name [name_u]Courtney[/name_u]. Iāve known three- one was a gorgeous, artistic teenage girl, one is a super cool bass player/rocker chick, and one is a guy
i like this name and i think it meshes with your usual style well ! i donāt love it as much for you as, for example, stephanie - it might be that courtney is a grey name to me and stephanie is this bright burst of pinks and oranges that in a sibset thereās a disconnect in vibe ? (i hope i am making a little sense )
[name_u]Courtney[/name_u] is cute! Sheās very of my time (at least over here), but iāve never met a mean one! She sounds so friendley and sweet, and i think she goes perfectly with your other choices
Unfortunately, I donāt like it ā the sharp āCourtā and the following āneeā sound just donāt evoke romance or beauty to me. However, [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] seems like a natural sister for [name_u]Courtney[/name_u] and maybe [name_m]Mark[/name_m].
I prefer [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] since itās also considered dated by some and it starts with a C, but I think its sounds are lovelier.
In theory I really like [name_u]Courtney[/name_u] sheās fun feels spirited and fun with a southern flair however the reality is I just donāt every [name_u]Courtney[/name_u] Iāve ever met was such a mean girl. I grew up on an estate where there were two girls named [name_u]Courtney[/name_u] & [name_f]Ebony[/name_f] on it they were sisters and just so mean like next level mean (broke my sisterās arm mean) obviously I lived on a rough estate there was a lot of top dog mentality but sheesh [name_u]Courtney[/name_u] & [name_f]Ebony[/name_f] were awful. Anyways thatās really put me off.
Have you thought of [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f], [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] or [name_u]Kimberley[/name_u]? [name_m]Just[/name_m] thought you make like those suggestions
I might be bias because its my name, I do like it. Growing up I didnāt because I knew so many other Courtneys at my school⦠it was within the top 20 girl names when I was born.
But I love it now, and it suits be perfectly. Its professional and strong, yet down to earth. It is a unisex name, which I dont mind at all, if anything I gravitate towards unisex names for girls on my personal baby list.
Some people call me [name_m]Court[/name_m], but its never fully stuck, and I always am referred to by my full name.
I hate the meaning of [name_u]Courtney[/name_u], but I have found an alternative meaning through my searches⦠ādweller by the dark streamā which I love.
