Coworkers baby names

I was talking with a few of my coworkers today and found out the names they’re planning on using for future children. [name]One[/name] of them said that she hopes her first kid is a daughter and she’ll name her [name]Elliott[/name] [name]Flynn[/name]. Hate it. Another of my coworkers said she wants to name her first son [name]Bentley[/name] [name]Lee[/name]. Hate it too. Another said if she ever has kids (which she thinks is unlikely) they’ll be [name]Wednesday[/name] and [name]Hannibal[/name].
My favorite is my fellow big kid teacher who already has a son named [name]Jesse[/name] [name]Dennis[/name] [name]Carl[/name] and when she has a girl, she wants to name her [name]Arianna[/name]. [name]Love[/name] that.

The worst: A woman I work with is pregnant with her second son. Her name is [name]Haylie[/name] and she named her first son Haydenn after herself. Haydenn Millerd. I don’t know why he has 2 Ns and the middle name is weird to me. She’s naming her second son Benntley [name]Eugene[/name]. She said she thinks the 2 Ns are cool and unique. When she has a girl, her name will be [name]Gabryella[/name] [name]Jordann[/name]. She wants them all to have Y’s and double N’s and thinks these spellings are cool. I think it’s a little ridiculous.

What do you think?
What are your coworker’s children’s names? The best or the worst

Well that was just a little bit painful to read…
Unless you’re 12, forget about the “unique” (read: hideous) spellings.
Maybe they’ll change their minds before the babies arrive? ha

[name]Isaac[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Emmett[/name]
[name]Samuel[/name]
[name]Rhys[/name]
[name]Davin[/name]
[name]Morgan[/name]
[name]Chelsea[/name]
[name]Molly[/name]
[name]Sabrina[/name]
[name]Sloane[/name]
[name]Ezra[/name]

I would pray that she asked my opinion because I would just let it all out. Those are awful names for so many reasons.

Believe me, I have given my opinion, followed by “And I don’t mean to be offensive”. The one woman with [name]Elliott[/name] [name]Flynn[/name] picked out told another coworker that name today and she scrunched her nose and said “[name]Elliott[/name]? for a girl?” And shook her head and laughed.

The weird thing is, a lot of the parent’s at the daycare seem to have pretty good taste when it goes to names (asides from the several [name]Hailey[/name]/[name]Hayley[/name], [name]Olivia[/name]/[name]Alivia[/name] and so forth) and I would have hoped then good taste would have rubbed off, but no luck.

The others that do have kids, they’re kids names are: [name]Jesse[/name], [name]Samantha[/name], [name]Christopher[/name], [name]Kristy[/name], [name]Regan[/name], [name]Holly[/name], [name]Madison[/name], [name]Danielle[/name], [name]Shawn[/name], [name]Savannah[/name], [name]Austin[/name], [name]Natalie[/name], [name]Makayla[/name]. Nothing to bad…but the others >.<
The ones with the bad name choices are a 17 year old (younger than me), a 22 year old (with the double Ns, my age), and a 35 year old (Elliotts future mom) and I like to think I have better taste in names so I don’t get whats happening with my age group!

I like [name]Wednesday[/name] [girl or boy] and [name]Elliott[/name] [girl or boy]. [name]Elliott[/name] [name]Flynn[/name] is cute for girl.

[name]Elliott[/name] [name]Flynn[/name] is great - for a boy. I’ve never understood the appeal of [name]Bentley[/name] - it’s a car, plus it’s the name of one of my friend’s cat, so that association alone makes it a pet name for me.

[name]One[/name] of my ex-colleagues has a daughter called [name]Niamh[/name] which I’ve always found pretty.

Most of my coworkers atm are teenagers, and don’t really discuss names unless they’re around me, haha. But there are a few…

Off the top of my head, the “babies” (some are full-grown adults, lol) of my coworkers are [name]Ashley[/name], [name]Christina[/name] (nn [name]Chrissy[/name]), [name]Lisa[/name], [name]Arianna[/name] (nn [name]Anna[/name]), [name]Layla[/name], [name]Robert[/name], [name]Ryan[/name], [name]Caitlin[/name], [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Daniel[/name], [name]Tiffany[/name], etc. Most of the children are children of managers so they’re mostly my age. But [name]Anna[/name], [name]Layla[/name], [name]Robert[/name], and [name]Ryan[/name] are all under the age of ten and [name]Caitlin[/name] is probably 14-ish? I have another coworker who is due any day, and she’s picked out the name [name]Gavin[/name] [name]Michael[/name] for her son (which I really love for her). If it had been a girl, she would have been Jadelyn [name]Skye[/name] ([name]Jade[/name]-lyn, not [name]Jade[/name]-ah-lyn), so I’m really glad he is a boy!

The general manager at my store has 4 kids under the age of four, and everyone tells me they are ALL named after him. Two boys and two girls. I don’t know their exact names, but I’ve heard him mention “[name]Little[/name] [name]Leo[/name]” and “[name]Leah[/name]” (his name is [name]Leo[/name]), so I can’t imagine it’s good. Although it doesn’t really surprise me–he would be the guy that insists that all of his children are named after him…

[name]One[/name] of my coworkers is on the look-out for cute names for me when she interacts with people and I don’t, and she met a little [name]Eliana[/name] months ago. She said she loved that, and I was pleasantly surprised (her daughters are [name]Ashley[/name], [name]Christina[/name], [name]Lisa[/name], and one more–I can’t remember her name!).

Another coworker and I were talking about names when I told her I was looking to adopt within five years, and she was like, “Oh, I love names! I love unique names…” (I at this point, I knew it was going to be bad…) She went on to say that she loved [name]Emily[/name] and [name]Elijah[/name], and I said, “Well, those aren’t really unique–they’re actually really popular.” Then she mentioned she would spell them differently, you know, to make them youneeek. She said she drew the line at the -eigh endings, though, because they just looked terrible. (At least she has a line somewhere, right?) And then she dropped the bomb:

“I want to name my first daughter Vanity!”

Oh, God help us all.

:frowning:

At least she’s still only 16 and has hope of maturing in the years before she actually is a mom!

Vanity! Goodness that worse than [name]Bentley[/name] [name]IMO[/name]. And I never understood the point of that name (or [name]Mercedes[/name] or [name]Chevy[/name] etc) either.

The weird thing is, some of the kids (7-12 mostly) like to talk to me about names. There’s one kid in my group whose name is [name]Joel[/name] Mafise (muh-fice). A little girl (7) told me she wanted to name her son [name]Vincent[/name] when she grew up, which I thought was remarkably mature. [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is in the process of renaming herself from [name]Gracie[/name] to [name]Cara[/name]. [name]Ashleigh[/name] hates the spelling of her name.

The most interesting (and yooneek) name at the daycare ATM is Mykaelyn (looks like mic-ay-lyn but her parents pronounce it mike-uh-leen) and a mother named Vaquissa (vuh-kwess-uh) who named her kids [name]Jackson[/name] [name]Scott[/name] and [name]Collin[/name] [name]Brandon[/name].
