A laidback person who typically keeps to himself and avoids excess conflict, influenced by the stresses of childhood that impacted both him and his parents. He and his family were the only Black family on the street he grew up on. He is the cousin of [name_u]Alex[/name_u] [name_m]Michaels[/name_m] and older brother of [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] [name_m]Acre[/name_m] of Celestial Being and respects her integration with the other band members as the only Black bandmate, however he feels he has not really felt integrated with most white people. He has many Black friends but connects with [name_m]Louis[/name_m] best and although [name_m]Louis[/name_m] is not Black, he is biracial and easy for [name_m]Troy[/name_m] to have honest conversations with. [name_m]Troy[/name_m] credits [name_m]Louis[/name_m] for opening his eyes about other races and while [name_m]Troy[/name_m] is not in a relationship and does not have kids, he feels open to a possibility of marrying and having children with someone not of his race just as equally as he would with someone of his race. While not much wedding details are planned, [name_m]Louis[/name_m] told [name_m]Troy[/name_m] that he is going to be a groomsman at [name_m]Louis[/name_m] and Feng Mian’s wedding.

Alura Fantasia Brink (24) is Troy’s future sister-in-law and Hallie’s fiancee. She met Hallie 3 years ago when Alura was passing through to visit family, and they connected immediately. They kept in touch every day for a while, and then as they became busier (Hallie with her band and Alura with her dancing crew, they talked less and less until they stopped altogether. Two years later, Alura moved to the same town because her dream fixer-upper house in her parents’ neighborhood went on the market, so she grabbed it! Sadly, she had to say goodbye to her dancing crew, but she put up ads to form a new one… And Hallie saw them. They re-kindled their friendship, which sparked into something more, and 10 months later, they got engaged!
Alura’s still interested in having a dance crew, but for now, she dances for Celestial Being’s music videos, and she’s starting to get requests from other local musicians. She’s still finishing the renovations on her dream house, which she and Hallie will move into after the wedding. She’s very close with her family, and she hopes to have her own someday, if that’s something she and Hallie want or are able to do in the future. She enjoys hanging out with Troy and had a blast helping him pick out a tux for his friend Louis’ wedding. Working as a graphic designer, in her first placement post-graduation following two years in various retail jobs, [name_u]Remi[/name_u] sometimes feels her sister moves too fast; worrying this could be a rebound in the face of things not working out with [name_f]Alura[/name_f]. They met [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] on the art course that they are both attending - them wanting to be a sculptor and carving mainly in wood - which is a hobby they picked up in childhood from they grandpa , who started making wooden toys for them so as to diversify their time during retirement. [name_f]Savvy[/name_f] gives them a lot of new inspirtation for new sculptors with her surrealistic , geometic drawings. [name_u]Paris[/name_u] and [name_f]Savvy[/name_f] both are quiet and rather mellow , but very few consider them boring due to their styles and artistic tendencies.
[name_u]Paris[/name_u] likes to tell puns and “dad jokes” in desperate attempts to be fun at college parties, which is something that [name_f]Savvy[/name_f] found super cute and therefore asked them out first (not without making a list of “pros and cons” of such an action, as well as reaching out for advice to [name_u]Remi[/name_u] ). The date took place at McDonald’s where they both got small fries and a cheeseburger - not the fanciest but definitely affordable for a college student’s budget. [name_u]Paris[/name_u] ’ favourite thing about being with [name_f]Savvy[/name_f] is the fact that she always plans dates out carefully and is an incredible listener - despite not being particularly cuddly, unlike themselves. [name_f]Savvy[/name_f] and [name_u]Paris[/name_u] love exchanging make-up techniques and [name_f]Carly[/name_f] keeps telling them that they should make tutorials for them in order to create a “social media power couple” however they are rather private about their relationship and rarely post photos online. [name_m]Ambrosio[/name_m] [name_u]Clarence[/name_u] Miers (73) is [name_u]Paris[/name_u]’s grandfather. He is a retired police officer and loves woodshop. He is nicknamed “Geppetto” by the neighbourhood children because he loves to make and mend them toys. He used to be a stricter man growing up but since retiring and doing more woodshop, he has loosened up and has been a chill and happy-go-lucky grandpa. He says his biggest regret was staying in the police force so long and he wishes he had more time to do what he loved with his craftwork and hopes [name_u]Paris[/name_u] can go out and do what they love as freely as they can. He supports [name_u]Paris[/name_u] and their relationship with [name_f]Savvy[/name_f] and everything they do if it makes them happy. He and his wife are still happily married and have several fun traditions with the family.

She and her younger brother love recieving toys from their neighbour , even if her parents tell her she’s getting too long for wooden farm animal figurines. Her father used to work alongside [name_m]Ambrosio[/name_m] because he’s the county sheriff whiile her mom is a local politician. This “prestige” of the family gives her a lot of preassure to do well in school and always be well-behaved , so she helps her neighbour frequently when it comes to pet-sitting the Miers family cat , [name_u]Pumpkin[/name_u] or preparing decorations for the neighbour’s front yard during holiday season. She appreciates that she and her brother can have a laugh with [name_m]Ambrosio[/name_m] and listen to funny yet educating stories about the past. Observing [name_m]Ambrosio[/name_m] , she developed an interest in woodshop too, but unfortunately her dad reinforces strict gender roles within the house and tells her that it’s a man’s job, while also discouraging her brother’s interest in baking. She would like her dad to change his mind and knows from her best friend’s experience that not every house is like hers, but she doesn’t know who to turn to in order to solve that problem.

She is quite estranged from the family especially since 2 years ago when she was still living at home she came out as bisexual and her step-dad’s homophobic views prevented her from living their and she cut off all contact with her brother and sister, which devastated them as she was something of a role model to both of them. She followed in her Mom’s footsteps by having twins last year via a drunk sperm donor decision and she now lives with her girlfriend and their toddlers Harmonica and [name_f]Athena[/name_f]. She plans to get in touch with [name_f]Thisbe[/name_f] now she’s a bit older and might understand more.

Verona Winifred Malcolm “Ro” (24) is Daphne’s girlfriend. She was adopted by an American family as a newborn, and there was zero info about the bio family at the time, not even their ethnicity; it took a DNA test for Ro to find out she was Korean, when she was 10. Because of her lack of info about her bio family (and being an only child), she doesn’t understand how Daphne could be okay cutting off her family like that… but she recognizes that those thoughts are coming from her own pain and scars, and Daphne’s parents aren’t as warm and accepting as Ro’s have been. Even with her questions about her cultural and biological identity, she has always been fully embraced for being pan and graysexual, and her parents constantly gush about her work as an abstract artist.
It’s been a rollercoaster of a time raising two toddlers after a spur of the moment decision when she was 22 and Daphne was 19. It’s been crazy fun and crazy stressful. She feels very strongly about them keeping contact with their sperm donor, who is also a close friend of Ro’s and Daphne’s. It was their friend’s (intoxicated) idea to become their sperm donor, when they were discussing future plans at a get-together with board games and whiskey, and even though they shake their heads and laugh about how it happened now, they’ve all become closer because of it.
