Create a Family (CAF) With a Twist

[name_f]Mathilda[/name_f] ’ [name_u]Matty[/name_u] ’ [name_m]Florent[/name_m] [name_m]Cox[/name_m] [27] and [name_f]Edith[/name_f] ’ [name_m]Eddy[/name_m] ’ [name_f]Jayne[/name_f] Constable [26] are two people who are very familiar with [name_m]Fraser[/name_m] and see him everyday, but have actually never met him. Instead they show his videos to the passengers of the planes that they work on. Part of their safety presentation involves acting out the actions being shown on the video as it plays to ensure that all passengers can see.

To keep things lively and fun they often start out by telling their passengers that they’ll be “Introducing our friend here to help us out.” and then giving a random name, usually a portmanteau of two real names to create a completely crazy and fictional one. It started as a method of trying to make each other laugh and break during their presentations, but has now become a running gag between them and the rest of the crew. Some of the names they’ve used have been Bartholomicheal, Lesland, Arrothan, Willonald, and Travowen.

They’ve become very close in their time as flight attendants, having bonded over both having ‘old lady names’ and ‘little boy nicknames,’ as well as both having last names that start with the same two letters. In fact some of their coworkers refer to the girls as ‘The CoCos’ due to their shared first two initials and the fact that they’re often side by side.

[name_u]Matty[/name_u] is the more reserved of the two, often needing to be convinced to go out with [name_m]Eddy[/name_m] and the other flight attendants during their spare time between flights. Whereas [name_m]Eddy[/name_m] is usually the one organizing those ventures and slinging back cocktails at hole in the wall clubs all over the world. She actually met her now fiancé this way when her and her coworkers were out at a nightclub in Moscow and she started dancing with a local. Before she left she wanted to get his number but was a little too tipsy to be thinking straight. She instead handed him her credit card and disappeared out the door back to the hotel.

Thankfully instead of stealing her identity and ruining her credit, he looked her up with the name on the card and reached out to her on social media. They started dating online and eventually met up again in person earlier this year, that was when the proposal came. To her surprise, [name_u]Matty[/name_u] had been helping him coordinate the event! She’s now promised to help try and set her up with someone at the wedding.
