[name_f]Shavonne[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] McMahon (22) , going by the stage name of Shamona is [name_f]Claire[/name_f] '[s biggest rival in music. She can both sing and rap which earned her a recognition on The Voice. She can be pretty harsh on interviews about her rivals but even she admits that [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is an incredible young talent when it comes to singing soulful ballads. She can recognise it because both she and her sister have started singing because of being in the church choir and being inspired by soul singers like [name_f]Aretha[/name_f] [name_u]Franklin[/name_u] , [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_m]Ross[/name_m] and [name_u]Whitney[/name_u] [name_u]Houston[/name_u]. She thinks as well-deserved as her win was, a lot of the win was earned because of her sob story with the open adoption , although she does respect [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and her team for keeping [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_u]Tahoma[/name_u] away from the spotlight and not turning the whole ordeal in some social media family vlogging charade.
It doesn’t help that her current manager wanted to manage [name_f]Claire[/name_f] first but Ritz had an offer that was more to the liking of Claire’s parents as it focused on [name_f]Claire[/name_f] 's individual career and not on collaborations with other artists. [name_f]Shavonne[/name_f] has collaborated with several rappers and singers from her agency. She feels like she has a lot to prove to her manager who would like her to stay solely in the soul genre while not being convinced if her brutally honest rapper persona does match her more soulful, classy side. One of the rappers she collaborated with noticed that [name_f]Shavonne[/name_f] 's manager treats her worse than the male rappers and stood up for her, for which she thanked him and has remained attracted to him ever since. He asked her out shortly after a recording session but [name_f]Shavonne[/name_f] doesn’t want her manageor the tabloids to find out because she isn’t sure if it has a chance of working out long term. Her sister supports her decision to pursue the dating on her own terms - even though she herself has stopped singning and now works in retail as a customer service manager, she tries to support [name_f]Shavonne[/name_f] while warning her about the dangers of show business.
