[name_f]Ovidia[/name_f] " [name_u]Vida[/name_u] " [name_f]Jocasta[/name_f] Fuertes (19) is the co-host of [name_f]Moll[/name_f] Spireâs podcast and the final member of [name_f]Moll[/name_f] , [name_u]Alex[/name_u] , [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] , [name_u]Lee[/name_u] and [name_u]Aster[/name_u] 's friend group. She is very excited about going to study in the [name_u]East[/name_u] [name_u]Coast[/name_u] - specifically majoring in Writing at the University of [name_f]Rhode[/name_f] [name_u]Island[/name_u]. Although she is without a doubt going to miss [name_u]Lee[/name_u] , [name_u]Aster[/name_u] and [name_u]Alex[/name_u] , the majority of her family - including her favourite aunt and cousin - live in [name_u]California[/name_u], so she is going to make time for them when holiday season comes.
[name_u]Vida[/name_u] has a strong friendship with [name_f]Moll[/name_f] - who stood up for her when she immigrated from Mexico in 2nd grade when kids were making fun of her accent and poor [name_f]English[/name_f] grammar. The first sentence [name_f]Moll[/name_f] learned in Spanish was âDo you want to be my friend?â and despite having learned [name_u]French[/name_u] so far in 1st grade, they asked their mom to switch her 2nd language to Spanish so that she could communicate with [name_u]Vida[/name_u] better. Now their true crime podcast has both [name_f]English[/name_f] and Spanish versions available for subscribers and [name_f]Moll[/name_f] is on nerly B2 level , so they often treat the language as their secret code. [name_u]Vida[/name_u] thinks that if it wasn;t for their podcast , she would never truly get out of her shell or let go of the insecurities about her accent - but their social media presence helped her build up confidence and grow thicker skin. Now she responds with sass to hate comments about ther accent or weight and sees how far sheâs truly come , no longer being the shy 9-year-old who reads mystery stories for kids in the corner and counts on her outspoken friend to shoo away the bullies. Another situation which helped her stand up for not only herself but also others was supporting [name_u]Alex[/name_u] in her right to draw and display artwork which depicts the female body. She herself is a huge body positivity advocate and has her own fashion blog where she discusses plus-size fashion and inclusivity within the clothing industry.
She canât wait to move to [name_f]Rhode[/name_f] [name_u]Island[/name_u] where she will reunite with her long distance boyfriend of three years - they met when she was travelling with her parents and discovering the beauty of the [name_m]Norman[/name_m] [name_u]Bird[/name_u] Sanctuary in Middletown, RI. They then found each other on social media and when they are asked what brought them together, they tend to jokingly reply " love of chocolate lava cake". [name_u]Vida[/name_u] â s parents are avid travellers who have visited the majority of the fifty US states and convince her that she needs no long trips to Europe or [name_f]Asia[/name_f] to see the beauty of the world - [name_u]Vida[/name_u] and her older brother also travel regularly to Mexico to visit their extended family. Her brother took after their parents more than herself - studying Geography at UCLA. [name_u]Vida[/name_u] jokes that he should keep an eye on [name_u]Aster[/name_u] when she goes there eventually. She and her brother are very close and as the tourism expert that he is , her brother helped [name_u]Vida[/name_u] prepare a "custom travel guide " of [name_u]California[/name_u] for [name_f]Iskra[/name_f] meant for the moment when she finally picks up the courage to visit her cousin [name_u]Aster[/name_u] and ask [name_f]Moll[/name_f] out. [name_f]Moll[/name_f] is oblivious to all of this, but how doesnât have some little secrets before their best friend?
