warning: transphobia, gender dysphoria

[name_f]Jonquil[/name_f] " [name_f]Quilla[/name_f] " [name_u]Garnett[/name_u] Feltstone (24) is Ash’s girlfriend and former secret co-owner of [name_f]Mila[/name_f] and [name_f]Tiggy[/name_f]. [name_f]Quilla[/name_f] endured gender dysphoria until she was thirteen and realised she was a trans woman, a very difficult revelation for her at the time as she knew her community wasn’t exactly open-minded. Coming from a small town where church and football dominated just about every aspect of your social life, coming out as transgender was practically unheard of, and [name_f]Quilla[/name_f] was accused of joking when she expressed this aged fifteen; followed by immediate ostracision and estrangement from people she had once been close to. [name_m]Even[/name_m] friends who didn’t object to [name_f]Quilla[/name_f] coming out were banned from associating with her by their parents and it culminated in her almost being suspended from school given the ‘distraction’ she had become to other students and parents protesting about her merely being her authentic self. Quilla’s parents put a stop to the whole thing by pulling her out themselves and making the decision to move somewhere much more open minded: San [name_m]Francisco[/name_m]. She still feels misplaced guilt over this as her dad had a good publishing job established and her younger brother had to move schools, but her parents remained firm in their decision, knowing their daughter was worth more than a closed-minded town full of bigots.

[name_f]Quilla[/name_f] majored in music at college and met [name_u]Ash[/name_u] at a department recital, which he came along to because one of his friends belonged to the course she was on. A harp player and opera trained vocalist, Quilla’s interest in classical music suprises a lot of people as while she’s demure and polite in her mannerisms, she’s also a huge fan of techno music and digital remixing, experimenting with a majority of styles throughout her exploration. She and her best friend, one of the few people who defied the general attitudes of the town and maintained her open closeness to Quilla; often go to underground gigs which are frequented by queer performers and are heavily involved in the community. [name_f]Quilla[/name_f] also shares a close relationship with Ash’s family, regularly accompanying him to visit them and Yuna’s helped her learn how to cook more traditional Korean dishes, spending a lot of time with [name_f]Quilla[/name_f] to discuss music whenever she’s round. Sometimes she and her brother have faced bumps in their relationship, as he was resentful about the move and seeing some of his own friendships destroyed, but ultimately as he’s matured and come to understand her perspective more, their bond has greatly improved as he understands all his sister was subjected to and still has to overcome.
