[name_m]Quon[/name_m] [name_m]Tai[/name_m] “ [name_m]Quintan[/name_m] “ [name_m]Chang[/name_m] (27) is the uncle of Cerys’s friend [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and the brother of [name_f]Noemi[/name_f]. [name_m]Quintan[/name_m] is also a parent, although he’s a single father by choice. People have asked him if he’s dating the surrogate who carried his son but he’s been very honest that he isn’t. [name_m]Quintan[/name_m] is like his father in their single parenting and he supports [name_m]Quintan[/name_m], but the circumstances are different due to the death of [name_f]Noemi[/name_f] and Quintan’s mother. [name_m]Quintan[/name_m] himself is asexual and aromantic and even if he’s the only [name_m]Chang[/name_m] who is, he’s got a lot of support by them. Ironically while his surrogate was pregnant, [name_m]Quintan[/name_m] was asked out on a date by two different people, but he politely rejected them both. He doesn’t mind if others are in love though – the dine-in restaurant he worked at is actually where his best friend went for his first date! [name_m]Quintan[/name_m] only works there part-time while he’s in medical school but loves making people happy when he works.
He’s not sure how he feels about the Keifers and is less close with them but he also wants to see the individuals in them and not just perceive them as all the same. He just can’t get past why Jazzy’s parents kicked her out, even if he doesn’t understand why [name_f]Jazzy[/name_f] would get pregnant as a teenager. All he knows about the [name_m]Keifer[/name_m] parents is that they never talked about sex education or even about dating with their children, believing they’d never be “the type” to date, let alone get intimate. It was like [name_f]Jazzy[/name_f] had to pay up for her parents’ own naivety. [name_m]Quintan[/name_m] himself is someone who didn’t date or get intimate in teenage years, but mainly because he was openly ace/aro. His opinion on people he knows dating & doing it? He doesn’t care. He went to a school where students were talking a lot about who was or wasn’t a virgin and he’s glad he never got involved in those conversations. It’s a personal decision after all and shouldn’t be compared. He’s now a doting father to his son with aspiring dreams after med school, so he’s happy and he knows his late mother would have wanted that. His son is close with cousin [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and is bonding with [name_f]Cerys[/name_f], although sometimes he doesn’t yet pick up on her shyness. [name_m]Quintan[/name_m] is always welcome to help his son out with understanding when he needs it given how young he is. But he also enjoys the fun times he and his son have and has a great bond with [name_f]Noemi[/name_f]. The two have talked a lot in childhood about what it would be like to grow up to be Aunt [name_f]Noemi[/name_f] and Uncle [name_m]Quintan[/name_m] to one another’s children…and now as adults, they’re glad to see it all panning out nicely.
