Leonardo ‘Leo’ James Baldwin (24) is Sapphire’s partner and Aurora’s father. Leo is the one who’s parents provided the holiday flat for them to live in, as mentioned in Sapphire’s bio, Leo comes from an extremely wealthy family, and grew up in Italy with his Italian Mother and American Father but moved to the US for his 2nd year of high school, and that’s where he met Sapphire.
Leo is doing an accounting apprenticeship but it isn’t his true passion, he’s doing it mainly because he wants to have financial independence from his parents, not because he doesn’t love them, it’s because he can see that his parents can be quite controlling over his decisions and they are overly protective of him as he is the youngest of their children, and with them pulling the strings over the money Sapphire & Leo are spending, Leo is scared that his parents might start controlling his decisions more, so him and Sapphire have both indulged into high-paying jobs, even though this was already Sapphire’s dream job, Leo really doesn’t like his job, and he really wants to be a musician, though he knows that kind of job is hit or miss, you could either be the next big star, or you could end up with no money, so Leo took the safe route, despite being told by Sapphire, his sister and all his friends that he has so much potential in the music industry.
Leo is close with his sister, Francesca, and he has had a very big role of uncle in Alina, Grace’s and Levi’s lives, even though Leo was only 12 when the eldest was born. Francesca was able to not rely on her parents financially because she got a sport scholarship for a college, and got a retail job to fund an apartment when she left, and eventually she met a partner and they rented a few places before moving to NY and buying their first apartment together, then once Alina was born they decided to make the big move to Colorado to a big ranch-style house.
Leo absolutely adores his daughter, Aurora and secretly wants more kids, and a big family. He is teaching Aurora to ride a bike at the moment so they can ride together because Leo loves riding his bike. Also, Sapphire thinks she could be pregnant but doesn’t wanna get Leo’s hopes up, and she is also in shock, the two already struggle with making time during work for Aurora, and Sapphire really wants to focus just on Aurora, and if Sapphire is pregnant, she is sure that they wouldn’t be able to manage another kid.
