I’m hoping someone can help me come up with some creative ways to honour my mum, [name_f]Christine[/name_f]. We are not religious, so trying to avoid anything that means [name_m]Christ[/name_m].
So far, I’ve got [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] for a girl, and [name_u]Augustine[/name_u] and [name_u]Kit[/name_u] for a boy.
[name_f]My[/name_f] mum is [name_f]Christine[/name_f] too - who gets [name_f]Chrissy[/name_f] so I would love to use (or more likely one of my siblings) that as a middle name on a grandchild one day.
For girls: Tine/Tyne, [name_f]Tina[/name_f], [name_f]Krista[/name_f], maybe even [name_f]Bettina[/name_f] or [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] or [name_u]Celestine[/name_u]? [name_f]Leontine[/name_f]?
For boys: maybe [name_m]Etienne[/name_m]? [name_u]Florentine[/name_u]?
Also, I always remind people that if their name is too difficult to find an honor for, you can always use a special symbol to them or of your relationship. For example, if she likes/liked birds you could do [name_u]Robin[/name_u] for either gender or [name_u]Kestrel[/name_u], etc.
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and [name_u]Augustine[/name_u] are wonderful! They’re beautiful, refreshing names! I think both are original ideas to honor [name_f]Christine[/name_f].
The previous posters have already shared many great ideas too!

You could also use a name inspired by her nickname, middle name or surname. Perhaps the place where she was born or lived for a while. What’s your mother’s favorite color, book, film, song, place, food, animal or plant? What’s her hobby? Where do you have the best memories with her?
