[name_m]The[/name_m] first time I heard this name, I actually quite disliked it, it just sounded harsh to me, but as time goes on, I find myself growing fond of it, and I wanted to hear your thoughts.

[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Cressida[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] first thought is Shakespeare’s Troilus and [name_f]Cressida[/name_f], so other names with Greek origins or from [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] would be my favorite with her.

thoughts, associations, imagery… [name_f][/name_f]my main association is [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] Cowell (the author of the How to Train Your [name_m]Dragon[/name_m] books), so she feels very fairy-tale-y / fantasy / magical to me! i’ve heard of the [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] character as well but haven’t read the play so can’t speak to that [name_f][/name_f]she feels somewhat frilly and romantic but has a cool, spunky edge! nicknames…[name_f][/name_f] perhaps [name_m]Cress[/name_m] or [name_f]Cressie[/name_f]?
I think Bridgerton has helped re-popularize Cressida, and I bet this name goes on a bit of a run over the next few years! I actually also really like it. The Bridgerton association is my only association. I picture a buttoned up girly-girl, but with a wild side that comes out once in a while. Long hair, running through a field, with nails & make-up done. A wild laugh. Brave.

Apologies for any duplications from previous commentors! I didn’t read the other comments so it wouldn’t sway my thoughts. Hope this helps!
I like the name. [name_f]My[/name_f] immediate association is with [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] Bonas, who dated [name_f]Prince[/name_f] [name_m]Harry[/name_m] for a couple of years. Secondarily, I do think of watercress (the vegetable).

I think [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] would sound great with another hard C in the middle spot: [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Calliope[/name_f], [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Clover[/name_f], [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] (and then [name_f]Cece[/name_f] is a natural nickname).
I love [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- warm, golden and pretty! I know it’s tied to the story of Troilus and [name_f]Cressida[/name_f], associating the name with a faithless lover, but there’s also writer [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] Cowell, actress [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] Bonas, a moon of [name_m]Uranus[/name_m], and (from a uk perspective) the former commissioner of the Met Police

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite nicknames are [name_f]Cressie[/name_f] and [name_m]Cress[/name_m], but I like [name_m]Sid[/name_m], Esse, [name_f]Cece[/name_f] and [name_f]Essie[/name_f] too
[name_f]My[/name_f] first thoughts when I hear the name [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] are posh, blonde, and ‘leggy’! Looks a bit like [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] Huntington-Whiteley. I imagine them working in the arts or media, e.g. curator for an art gallery.

I think [name_m]Sid[/name_m] would be a fun nickname.
I love [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] especially nickname [name_m]Cress[/name_m] (although @Shits_Giggles[name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Sid[/name_m] is genius!). [name_f]My[/name_f] main association is the Shakespeare/mythological character who is perhaps not the most inspiring but it gives her literary cachet. She’s quite aristocratic, and in the UK I’d situate her with names like [name_f]Hermione[/name_f], [name_f]Pandora[/name_f], [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f], [name_f]Cosima[/name_f], [name_f]Marina[/name_f], [name_f]Saffron[/name_f], [name_f]India[/name_f].
