Crew

This name keeps sneaking it’s way higher and higher on my list. Plus, I kind of enjoy making my family’s eyebrows raise. My son’s name is [name]Boston[/name] [name]Nicholas[/name].

The only problem is I’m not sure what mn fits with it. If I found a great mn then I would love to use this name! Our last name starts with is like W____er (2 syllables). Here are some of the names on my list for mn’s:
[name]Garrett[/name]
[name]Landon[/name]
[name]James[/name]
[name]Matthew[/name]
Bridan (combo of grandfather’s names [name]Brian[/name] and [name]Daniel[/name])
[name]Maddox[/name]
[name]Preston[/name]

[name]Do[/name] you like it? What about a mn?

I prefer [name]Crewe[/name] spelled this way.

From your list, [name]Crewe[/name] [name]Maddox[/name] W____er is my favourite. I also think these might work:

[name]Crewe[/name] [name]Preston[/name] W____er
[name]Crewe[/name] [name]Garrett[/name] W____er
[name]Crewe[/name] Bridan W____er

[name]Crewe[/name] [name]Garrett[/name] or [name]Crewe[/name] [name]Maddox[/name] are great combinations! I also prefer [name]Crewe[/name] spelled with an “e” at the end - it looks more complete! All the best!

[name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Crew[/name]! [name]Crew[/name] gets my vote over all the other names you’ve been thinking about…have to say I also love [name]Boston[/name]…i saw the name [name]Boston[/name] in a newspaper article a [name]Long[/name] time ago thought t was adorable ever since, glad to see someone use it:)
[name]Crew[/name] is a fabulous choice and one that needs some getting used to by fam and friends but it can work.
I’d suggest a more classic name in the middle like Bostons.
[name]Crew[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Crew[/name] [name]Preston[/name]
[name]Crew[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Crew[/name] [name]Brian[/name]/[name]Ryan[/name]
[name]Crew[/name] [name]Daniel[/name]

Thanks! I think [name]Crew[/name] [name]Maddox[/name] sounds better than any of the other combinations, but I agree that [name]Crew[/name] needs a classic middle name.
I like
[name]Crew[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Crew[/name] [name]Garrett[/name]
[name]Crew[/name] [name]Matthew[/name] (I keep coming back to this… is it completely apparent that they rhyme? or is it subtle enough to work?)

I also agree with the people who said that [name]Crewe[/name] looks more complete, but I think the majority of people would spell it “[name]Crew[/name]” and I decided a long time ago that I would never, ever, ever give my kids names that other people couldn’t spell/say. My name is [name]Chantal[/name] and even when I spell it for someone, they don’t listen. They write it the way they THINK it sould be spelled. Very frustrating!

[name]Crewe[/name] looks misspelled to me, and [name]Crew[/name] is more clean cut…
[name]Crew[/name] [name]Garrett[/name] doesn’t roll off the tongue as easy as [name]Crew[/name] [name]James[/name], but I do love [name]Crew[/name] [name]Matthew[/name]. The rhyming isn’t so apparent unless you stress the last syllable on Matth-EW and I never heard out pronounced that way.

Me too!

[name]Crewe[/name] [name]Garrett[/name] has a bit of a butch '80s feel.
[name]Crewe[/name] [name]Landon[/name] has an upscale, athletic feel… like a [name]Rugby[/name] player or a rower.
[name]Crewe[/name] [name]James[/name] is a bit abrupt… two one-syllable names back-to-back.
[name]Crewe[/name] [name]Matthew[/name] - don’t love the double “oo” endings.
[name]Crewe[/name] Bridan - [name]Crew[/name]/[name]Crewe[/name] teeters on the edge of “unique” and “out there,” and Bridan pushes it to the latter.
[name]Crewe[/name] [name]Maddox[/name]… I like this.
[name]Crewe[/name] [name]Preston[/name] - same as [name]Landon[/name].

FYI I named my ds [name]Crew[/name], born 9.5.10…OBSESSED with the name. I can’t tell you how many times I get unapproving looks when I tell them my name (mostly from older people) and it does get old to have to say, “his name is [name]Crew[/name]. C-R-E-W, [name]Crew[/name]”…but I’m dealing, haha. It’s so worth it because so many people stop and tell me how much they love his name and how cool it is. I needed to use my dad’s name as his middle so he’s [name]Crew[/name] [name]Andrew[/name] and I’m a little bothered by the rhyme of it all, but sentimental value wins over silly worries. I did [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Crew[/name] [name]Jamison[/name] (could be called CJ) thought it has an awesome ring to it. Stick to your guns and use it, I’m so glad I didn’t back down.

Well, I love the name “[name]Crew[/name]” spelled just like that:) In fact, we named our son [name]Crew[/name] [name]Daniel[/name] (born 5/1/2010). “[name]Daniel[/name]” is my husbands name and it seemed like a good way to balance a non-traditional name with a very traditional one. And hey, “[name]Crew[/name]” made it as number 1000 on social securities list of baby names of 2010!!! I have had people suggest it is not a real name, and ended up taking a picture of the listing in our baby name book as proof that other people think it is a name too. And the best disapproving response I received was from my [name]MIL[/name]: “Over twenty years of teaching, and I have never heard that name. …over 500 students, and I have never heard that one.” HA!!!

I love the name [name]Crewe[/name] as well, but spelled [name]Crewe[/name]! It looks more like a name and less like a word.

[name]Crewe[/name] [name]Daniel[/name] is so cute, by the way!
