Crosby

What impression would you have of someone named [name]Crosby[/name]? Is the name too young or too old, or does it work for all ages? Does the nickname [name]Oz[/name] or Os work for [name]Crosby[/name]?

Whenever I see [name]Crosby[/name] I just think of celebrities. Either [name]Bill[/name] [name]Crosby[/name] or [name]Sidney[/name] [name]Crosby[/name]. It just seems too much of a last name to work in my opinion. If I had to pick an age though it would probably be best for 60+. The nickname [name]Oz[/name] is cute however!

I just think of [name]Crosby[/name], Stills, and [name]Nash[/name] and that makes me think of an older man. But it works enough! I prefer [name]Colby[/name], and think it’s more on style currently.

It actually makes me think of the character [name]Crosby[/name] on Parenthood. It’s his first name on the show and he is played by [name]Dax[/name] [name]Shepard[/name], and I think he’s supposed to be in his mid to late 30s. As for celebrities, it’s [name]Bill[/name] Cosby, not [name]Crosby[/name] but I did think of [name]Bing[/name] [name]Crosby[/name] just now. I think it’s a cool name and I love the nn [name]Oz[/name].

I think Crosby is an interesting choice. The nickname Oz definitely works. I can easily see this name on a guy of any age. I get two images from this name. Crosby is either an Ivy League-educated lawyer or a hipster musician/artist.

@agirlinred- It’s interesting you have that image.

Also, this may be a stretch but does [name]Chuck[/name] also work as a nickname option?

I do think the name is versatile. I don’t think [name]Chuck[/name] works as a nickname for [name]Crosby[/name], but maybe just a nickname in general? To me [name]Chuck[/name] is more like [name]Buster[/name] or [name]Buddy[/name] in that it’s not a nickname for anything in particular.

I don’t care for [name]Crosby[/name] at all. When I see it, I think of the hockey player who I do not like at all ([name]Sidney[/name] [name]Crosby[/name])!! lol

As a given name, I prefer it without a nickname but ditto agrilinred that [name]Chuck[/name] could be used as a general nickname.

I like [name]Crosby[/name] much better than [name]Colby[/name].

I agree with agirlinred’s images. If you use [name]Oz[/name] as a nn, that tips it even more in the artistic/musical direction.

I also thought of the Parenthood character! And I think it’s a cool name, though I definitely don’t have the guts to use it myself.
