What are people’s opinions on [name_f]Cybele[/name_f]? It’s pronounced [name_u]SI[/name_u]-be-lee, which I think is so pretty. I know that it would probably be confused with [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] but I feel like once people heard it enough they wouldn’t confuse it anymore. Thoughts?
I would not guess that was the pronunciation just by looking at it.
I think this is a very beautiful and totally underused name with a fantastic meaning!
The issue will be the not-straightforward pronunciation. The Greek original is spelled with a K, so the original pronunciation is more along the lines of [name_f]Kew[/name_f]-BEH-leh. If you’re ok guiding people on how to pronounce the name, then I think this is a winner 
Actually, in Greek it’s closer to kee-VEH-lee, which I think sounds kind of cute!
I agree with the previous poster that it’s very attractive, but the pronunciation a bit troublesome. However, I think it’s usable, especially with its nicknames.
