There are very few names that I truly dislike, [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is one. I much prefer the fresh, spunky, beautiful [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. This is just my personal feelings.

I love [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and I love [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. I haven’t decided which way to vote yet… The only issue I’ve had with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is that I haven’t come up with a nn I love for it, but I think [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is a good idea! However I love the beautiful [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] kept to a full name too.

Definitely [name_f]Daisy[/name_f].

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] sweet [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], but I have found her so incredibly, frustratingly impossible to pair up as she is! So [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] nn [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is on my own list, and I love it that way. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] got my vote! I think [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] nn [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is the best of both worlds, but if you’re not feeling [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], just [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is nice, too (as long as you can figure out a combo easier than I can–ha!).

In your case, I would go with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] nn [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. If your SO likes both names I’d use [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] nn [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] since in this case you don’t really have to pick one or or the other, he can get both. If you like just [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] better you can call her that exclusively, and he can call her one or the other or both as he likes.

The only thing is, since [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] isn’t really intuitive, outside the home you’d probably have to introduce her as either [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] or [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and she would just be called that name, not both. But if your SO is okay with her mostly being [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] (since you both like that one) and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] just on the birth certificate/what she gets called at home, go for it. It won’t be too confusing- everyone in my family gets called two or more names from childhood, that may or may not be related, and it’s never been an issue with little ones.

Maybe I’m missing something, but I don’t find [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] nn [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] to be intuitive at all. So I agree with pp that even if you went that route, you’d still have to pick a “most of the time” name. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is beautiful, and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is sweet, but I’m not sure they work together.

I love [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], and while I do like [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], I do find her to be a little too ‘cutesy’ (for lack of a better word) as a full name, so personally, I’d much rather [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] “[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]”. That said, if you very much prefer just [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] to [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], then I think your answer’s right there - go with just [name_f]Daisy[/name_f].

I don’t think I’ve had a chance to tell you yet, but I’m so excited for you!! Very much looking forward to what name you pick, since you have such a wonderful taste in names!

I prefer [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] nn [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] because you get the best of both worlds. She might end up a more serious person that [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] doesn’t quite suit or vise versa.

Sorry - I dislike [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. Not a fan of the word “laid” in there and in [name_m]French[/name_m] “laid” means ugly.
I prefer [name_f]Daisy[/name_f].

I’m a little torn about this one: I don’t really find [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] nn [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] that intuitive, so I’d go for just [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]; but then again I’m all for giving kids options to choose from if they feel like their name doesn’t suit them, and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] offers more possibilities in that sense than [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] does.

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like any of the other nns for [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]? If you go that way she may just decide to be called [name_f]Addie[/name_f] one day, and I’ve seen a lot of dislike for that particular nickname here on Nameberry.

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you have a mn picked already? Maybe [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f] or [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] could also be a compromise name.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] being that they are distinctly separate names and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] isn’t an intuitive nickname? I think it would avoid [name_f]Addie[/name_f] as a possible nickname and she would be called [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] or maybe [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f].

I really dislike [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is sweet, so I picked [name_f]Daisy[/name_f].

I love both names, they’ve both been on my list for ages. I’m also a huge lover of nicknames and I don’t mind if they are a “stretch” or not. I’ve even considered [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] nn [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] myself! Ultimately I decided that [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is just too lovely of a name to not use it in full. (I adore [name_f]Della[/name_f] and think I’d use that occasionally.)

If it were up to me and me alone, I’d be naming one of my lil girls [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], unfortunately my hubby isn’t a fan.

For me it comes down to whether you would call her [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] all of the time and write [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] on forms and on school books? If so, I’d choose [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. If however she is sometimes called each of them, and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is written on forms and on school materials etc, I’d choose [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] nn [name_f]Daisy[/name_f].
