[name_m]Will[/name_m] you help me get [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] FINALLY right? I’ve been messing with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] nn [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] a couple years, because I find [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] so hard to pair up in a way that I can fall in love with, but I honestly am not an [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] fan, so I’d really like to find a “just [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]” combo I can love.
Right now my fill-in [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] combo is [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]–I do quite like it, but I don’t know that I ADORE it, but I haven’t been able to think of anything better. I like the idea of something that feels fairly modern, fairly European, and maybe even something stronger than it is sweet or cutesy, because I tend to feel like most options I come up with either feel like a southern caricature or sickeningly sweet. Other options I’ve at least liked in the past have been [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_u]Endellion[/name_u] (although [name_u]Endellion[/name_u] really isn’t my cup of tea in general, so I’m quite over it these days) and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]. I may have had a crush on [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Madelief[/name_f] a while back but rejected it because it seemed redundant. I’m sort of wondering about [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] today, but am not ready to commit to [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] until I actually make it through my collection of [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] stories.
Anyway. Anyone up for a challenge? I’m hoping someone can help me find a [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] combo I’ll truly love, so I can let go of [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] (which is nice enough, just better for someone else’s little princess!).
Daisy is beautiful without it needing to be a nn for something, although you could definitely use [name_f]Madelief[/name_f] for a fn and use [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] as the nn. The first name that popped up for me was [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], then [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]. Otherwise, [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Sunniva[/name_f] are beautiful as well.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. I keep thinking of other nature names that flow well but I realize you may not want to name your daughter solely after plants . I like [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] with [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], and [name_u]Rae[/name_u].
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] is [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] has been my #1 shining star girl since I was a teenager, & [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] has been my #2 shining star girl since my dad, [name_m]David[/name_m], passed away in 2018. I was over the moon to find such a beautiful name to honor him. Anyway! [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] is perfect.
On another note, if you are still looking for a full name for [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], I’ve always thought that [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] or [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] nn [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] were pretty great.
And if you’re set w/just [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], but want more options than [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] for a mn, how about…(sorry for any repeats)
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] has some SERIOUS potential. I’m actually not that fond of just [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Aviva[/name_f]?
But when I pair it with something longer like [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], I can see it’s true potential.
It’s definitely been added to the list of options, thanks, love! [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Lilian[/name_f] is intriguing, too, but almost feels too floral? Plus, [name_f]Liliana[/name_f] [name_f]Odele[/name_f] is already on my list.
Thanks, [name_f]Emma[/name_f]! You know me so well lol. I’m not sure it’s just right, but it was the first one to make me stop and seriously consider. WHY do I find [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] so hard?! lol. I’ll hang onto it and give it a shot.
[name_f]Catriona[/name_f]/Katrina isn’t really my thing, but I’m wondering about [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Alastriona[/name_f] now? Irish names for girls isn’t really my thing, but I’ve been appreciating [name_f]Alastriona[/name_f] lately.
If anyone else wants to give this a shot, I’m all ears! Apparently [name_f]Aviva[/name_f], [name_f]Amalia[/name_f], [name_f]Alastriona[/name_f], [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f], and [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f] is my starting point.
Other flower/nature names that maybe you can think of are [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Freesia[/name_f], [name_f]Azalea[/name_f], [name_f]Pansy[/name_f], [name_f]Daffodil[/name_f], [name_f]Acacia[/name_f], [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f]
But [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is lovely!!
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Alafair[/name_f] (also spelt Alifair)?
There’s also [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Azenor[/name_f], but I wonder if [name_f]Azenor[/name_f] might be just a bit too strong on the Z sounds with [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
If you still want a formal name for [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], how about [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]? Apparently it’s the french name for an oxeye daisy. A lot of people also use [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. If that’s not your cup of tea, I think [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_u]Lark[/name_u] makes a great combo. [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] means the “day’s eye” and a lark is a bird that sings at dawn.
Daisy [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] is so gorgeous. I would use it in a heartbeat (I’m on a serious [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] kick right now though, so I may be a tad biased). [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is also really lovely.
My first thought was [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f].
