[name_m]Hi[/name_m]!
I’m really loving the name [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. I think it’s sweet and familiar while not being too too common. However, it’s a really popular name for pets. I already know a few dogs named [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. Is this something that would stop you from using the name for a baby?
Thanks! xx

It is perfectly fine. [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is also a common name for dogs for example, but nobody has a problem with it.
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] reminds me of flowers and spring. Very [name_f]English[/name_f].

Thank you! [name_f]My[/name_f] wife’s name is [name_f]Molly[/name_f] which is common for dogs, and she says she never had much of a problem with it. We were just wondering where [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is more popular.

I mean, there is no reason why a name should stop you since it is used on dogs. Virtually common people names like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_u]Zoe[/name_u], [name_u]Bailey[/name_u], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] are used a lot on dogs, too.

Not too dog-ish at all! I have a cousin [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] whose nickname is [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] (and whose sister is Molly) who wears her name just beautifully. I love the name—and I highly prefer it for a human than for a pet. I’ve never met an animal called [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] before, but I’ve met several humans! Such a sunshiney, literary, and blissful little name. ![:blossom: :blossom:](https://forum.nameberry.com/images/emoji/apple/blossom.png?v=12)
(Plus… [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] could make a lovely indirect honor for you, being named [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]! In [name_u]French[/name_u], “daisy” is “marguerite.”)

Thank you! I had completely forgotten about the Margaret-Daisy connection ![ ](https://forum.nameberry.com/images/emoji/apple/heart.png?v=12)

Considering I like the name [name_u]Murphy[/name_u], I don’t think it would put me off! Also, [name_f]Luna[/name_f] is so very popular for pets, but it’s still being used for babies! Plus, where I am, [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is fairly well used on babies too so I think you’re good ![ ](https://forum.nameberry.com/images/emoji/apple/slight_smile.png?v=12)

[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is a lovely name! I’ve met a couple human Daisys and they all wore it really well. Lots of human names are used for dogs but I don’t think that makes them bad for people!

I associate Daisy as a person name more than a pet name!
