Dakota

Yeah it isn’t my favorite, but my husband seems to like it. What do you think of it? what other names would you suggest based only on this one name?

These seem similar to me:

[name]Sierra[/name]
[name]Savannah[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name]
[name]Sienna[/name]
[name]Mackenzie[/name]
[name]McKenna[/name]
[name]Payton[/name]
[name]Addison[/name]/[name]Madison[/name]

Sierra and Savannah were once on his list. I’m ok with these.

Georgia he really doesn’t like.
The rest I don’t think I could agree to. xD

[name]Danica[/name]/[name]Danika[/name]

I used to like the sound. But the [name]Sioux[/name] people I’ve talked to find it kinda demeaning and racist and I’ve taken it entirely off my list out of respect.

Similar sound/flow
[name]Danica[/name]/[name]Danika[/name] - Agree with PP this works well.
[name]Viveca[/name]/[name]Vivica[/name]
[name]Shiloh[/name]
[name]Cassidy[/name]/[name]Cassia[/name]
[name]Dahlia[/name] (prefer dahl-ya pronunciation) - but I just like nature names so yeah.
[name]Demeter[/name]/[name]Demetria[/name] - I like the goddess aspect and [name]Demi[/name] is a cute nickname.
[name]Dominique[/name]
[name]Sienna[/name] - If he liked [name]Sierra[/name], [name]Sienna[/name]'s pretty.
[name]Susannah[/name] - if he liked [name]Savannah[/name].
[name]Kira[/name] (or [name]Keira[/name], or [name]Kiera[/name]…)
[name]Kayla[/name]

I like [name]Danica[/name] but a girl named [name]Danny[/name] ruined it for me. that stinks. I’d be eternally unhappy if I named a daughter [name]Danika[/name] and everyone called her [name]Danny[/name].
I really like [name]Cassidy[/name] and [name]Kira[/name]. I really like [name]Kayla[/name] too, but isn’t it pretty dated now?

[name]Kayla[/name] had an upsurge that’s tailing off, but I vastly prefer it to [name]Kaylee[/name] and [name]Mckayla[/name] and all of those. [name]Kayla[/name]/[name]Kaila[/name]'s a family name for me, goes back a couple hundred years so I’m always tickled when people describe it as “so popular” or even “so '90s” because when I told my mother I liked it, she said “You can’t! It’s much too old! There are no modern Kaylas!” I laughed for days and she still thinks I fudged the Social Security data. LOL.

On the other hand, its a bit of a contraction of [name]Kelila[/name]/[name]Kelilah[/name], which maybe feels fresher? Only problem is I think people would try to say it like rhymes with [name]Delilah[/name], and it’s really keh-lee-lah.

But [name]Kayla[/name] is so simple and sweet.
