What do you think about [name_m]Astaire[/name_m]?
Reminds me of [name_m]Fred[/name_m] [name_m]Astaire[/name_m]… I don’t even know who that is lol. Could go along with a sister Esteppe.
OMG. Great [name_m]Fred[/name_m] [name_m]Astaire[/name_m] movies out there, not to be missed.
I immediately think [name_m]Fred[/name_m] [name_m]Astaire[/name_m], but there are much worse references. Also kind of reminds me of [name_m]Alasdair[/name_m] (which is one of my favorites) or [name_u]Adair[/name_u] (also very nice). I think I prefer it as a middle but I do love the sound.
I thought there was only one famous [name_m]Astaire[/name_m], [name_m]Fred[/name_m]. ?
I think he meant there’s other names worse references, not with [name_m]Astaire[/name_m] (correct me if I’m wrong, [name_m]Jack[/name_m]!).
I do definitely think of [name_m]Fred[/name_m] [name_m]Astaire[/name_m], but I like the name! Reminds me of [name_u]Adair[/name_u] and [name_m]Alistair[/name_m], too.
Thanks. [name_m]Fred[/name_m] [name_m]Astaire[/name_m] wasn’t much to look at, but when he danced…
I like the name’s starriness.
I like a lot of dancers’ names: [name_m]Alvin[/name_m], [name_u]Gene[/name_u], [name_u]Merce[/name_u], [name_f]Isadora[/name_f], [name_f]Martha[/name_f], [name_u]Misha[/name_u], [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], [name_f]Twyla[/name_f], [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f], [name_f]Gelsey[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f], Nureyev, [name_f]Ginger[/name_f]…
I like the name and the [name_m]Fred[/name_m] [name_m]Astaire[/name_m] connection!
I thought this was going to be about [name_u]George[/name_u] Balanchine
ooh what about [name_f]Tanaquil[/name_f]?
Balanchine - great name! I don’t know [name_f]Tanaquil[/name_f]…
Tanaquil [name_m]Le[/name_m] Clerq! She was actually married to Balanchine for a while.
That is exactly what I meant lol— apologies for the poor wording.
Astaire is definitely associate with [name_m]Fred[/name_m], but as others have said that’s not a bad thing at all! I think it sounds suave and sophisticated. [name_m]Jerome[/name_m] ([name_m]Robbins[/name_m]) is another that comes to mind.
Astaire would make an fantastic middle name! I wouldn’t personally use it as a first name, mainly because, when I say it, it sounds like I’m saying ‘a stair’…
I love the idea, I love surnames as first names, but I’m not too fond of names that start with As. What about Rogers? His partner Ginger Rogers was an excellent dancer. She did everything that he did, but backwards and in heels!
Astaire is full of flair and elegance
