[name_f]My[/name_f] fiance mentioned [name_u]Dane[/name_u] last week and I hadn’t really thought anything of it, but I remembered it while in bed last night (as you do!) and I think I really like it! Our favourite atm is [name_u]Dylan[/name_u], but it’s pretty popular so [name_u]Dane[/name_u] seems like a nice alternative.
What do you think of [name_u]Dane[/name_u]?
We had 3 names on our middle name list: [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] & [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] but none of them really stand out to us. The only one that we think really works is [name_u]Dane[/name_u] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] but we’re not sure we like it enough, so we’d love some middle name options too!
I like both [name_u]Dane[/name_u] and [name_u]Dylan[/name_u]. Funny thing, I know more Danes than Dylans. I think I very slightly prefer [name_u]Dylan[/name_u]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] are very handsome.
I have a little cousin named [name_u]Dane[/name_u], and he wears it so well. The Great [name_u]Dane[/name_u] connection actually rarely comes up. I think it’s a very handsome, unique name. Here are some middle name suggestions (there may be some repeats of what has already been said):
[name_u]Dane[/name_u] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] is great! What’s not to like?
I love [name_u]Dane[/name_u]! It isn’t heard much, aside from comedian/actor [name_u]Dane[/name_u] Cook. I also have a cousin that used the name many years ago.
Dade is cool too. I heard it in a movie when I was younger.
I like [name_u]Dane[/name_u] but at the same time, the first thing I thought of when I saw the thread title was the dog breed, so I wouldn’t use it for that reason. As for [name_u]Dylan[/name_u], don’t be swayed by its popularity, it’s a great name!
I like the underused [name_u]Dane[/name_u]. Because I grew up watching 90210, I can’t shake the association with [name_u]Dylan[/name_u]. I do agree that your mn options sound a lot better with [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] than with [name_u]Dane[/name_u]. Here a few middles to consider for [name_u]Dane[/name_u]:
[name_u]Dane[/name_u] is great name! I’m a big dog lover (semi-pun(s) intended) so I wouldn’t think any reference to a Great [name_u]Dane[/name_u] would be offensive. I know a guy named [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_u]Dane[/name_u] who goes by [name_u]Dane[/name_u]. [name_u]Dane[/name_u] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] is cool.
[name_u]Dane[/name_u] sounds lovely but one connection instantly sprang to mind. The word “dane” is also used as a noun to refer to someone who is Danish/of Danish descent, so it could cause misunderstanding. But if you do not mind that, then it is a lovely name to use.
