[name]Maximus[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] is such a strong and lovely name. I prefer [name]Dante[/name] to [name]Vincent[/name], but I also think [name]Dante[/name] [name]Vincent[/name] is great as a combo.
I also like [name]Lucian[/name], [name]Damien[/name], [name]Damon[/name], Vinicius, and [name]Orlando[/name] as possible brothers to [name]Maximus[/name].

I like both [name]Dante[/name] and [name]Vincent[/name] but would lean towards using [name]Dante[/name] up front.

Surname is Cavazos. Another question, do you think anyone would try to call [name]Dante[/name] [name]Dan[/name] or [name]Don[/name] for short? I hate both of those and its the only thing that bothers me about this name that I otherwise love.
Oh I love [name]Dante[/name] but DH won’t go for it. We’ve agreed in [name]Vincent[/name] if we have a boy so I love both names. If I could I’d go for [name]Dante[/name]

I’ll add my vote to the pile for [name]Dante[/name] [name]Vincent[/name] as a full name. [name]Vincent[/name] was my father’s name, so I have obvious love for it; but I think [name]Dante[/name] works better in the first name position in this case.
I wouldn’t automatically call him [name]Dan[/name] or [name]Don[/name], personally. Perhaps others would, but it doesn’t strike me as being as inevitable as a [name]Rebecca[/name]/[name]Becca[/name] or a [name]Daniel[/name]/[name]Dan[/name]. Unless [name]Dante[/name] decided to go by a nickname himself, I don’t think too many others would bust out with it unprovoked.

I don’t think you can control nns, so yeah ppl would probably try [name]Dan[/name] or [name]Don[/name] or even [name]Tay[/name], but I have a 2-syllable name and no one ever tries to shorten it, so maybe not.
I love [name]Dante[/name]! (I even have it on my own Top 20 boys list.) I like the suggestion of [name]Dante[/name] [name]Vincent[/name], but the combo I have for [name]Dante[/name] is probably not your style, but it’s [name]Dante[/name] [name]Griffin[/name].

And I think [name]Dante[/name] is short enough on it’s own that people probably won’t tend to shorten it too often to [name]Don[/name] or [name]Tay[/name].

I agree with dainetea! [name]Damien[/name]/[name]Damon[/name], [name]Dante[/name], [name]Lucian[/name] go great with [name]Maximus[/name].
[name]Love[/name] the name [name]Maximus[/name] btw. It was one of three names we were considering for my son. [name]Luther[/name], [name]Wolf[/name] and [name]Maximus[/name]. [name]Luther[/name] won.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Dante[/name] [name]Vincent[/name] and, believe it or not, you can prevent the use of nicknames until the child is old enough to decide for himself.
[name]Dante[/name], all the way. [name]Maximus[/name] is a very powerful name, and [name]Vincent[/name] (while still a great name) just doesn’t stand up to that. [name]Dante[/name] and [name]Maximus[/name] are great together.
The Dantes I know don’t use nicknames. It’s only two syllables, so I can’t imagine anyone would automatically shorten it.
Thanks everyone. I was only worried about the [name]Dan[/name]/[name]Don[/name] thing because I had some bad experiences with people named [name]Dan[/name]/[name]Don[/name] in the past that I wouldn’t want to be reminded of by people shortening his name. [name]Dante[/name] itself doesn’t bring up the memories though, and I love the name. I was considering [name]Maximus[/name], [name]Dante[/name] and [name]Vincent[/name] for 3 boys since they’re the only two names I like (should I even HAVE 3 boys), so while I am now loving [name]Dante[/name] [name]Vincent[/name], it worries me that I may not find a 3rd option down the line. But I guess I’ll worry about that later if it even is an issue. I also wouldn’t know what to call [name]Vincent[/name] if it were a first name since I’m not too fond of [name]Vince[/name] and my hubby hates [name]Vinny[/name]. I think you guys are right about putting it in the middle name spot. Thanks for all the comments!!!
