Darcy, Darcie, Darcey or Darci?

How would you spell Darcy for a little girl? I love all four spellings but I’m struggling to decide which one is better for me?

Here’s how they rank in terms of popularity in the US:

Darcy - #1181 (194 births) // peaked in 1968 - in top 1000 from 1949-1994
Darci - #3326 (46 births) // peaked in 1969 - in top 1000 from 1962-1984
Darcie - #5160 (24 births) // peaked in 1971 in top 1000 from 1967-1984
Darcey - #8443 (12 births) // never ranked in the top 1000

Which spelling do you prefer for me?

Thank you!

I prefer the classic, instinctive [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] but I also like [name_f]Darcie[/name_f] for you

[name_u]Darcy[/name_u] is cute! I saw somewhere the combo [name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] and needless to say, I’m in love with [name_f]Elle[/name_f] and [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] now :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I like [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] best, it’s the spelling I’d probably default to! With that being said though, I haven’t met a female [name_u]Darcy[/name_u], only Darcie’s or Darci’s

I’ve known two Darcys, both female. One was spelt [name_f]Darcie[/name_f] (and she’d be about 15 now) and the other is [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] (who is 10). [name_u]Love[/name_u] the name on a girl!!

[name_u]Darcey[/name_u] is the spelling used by the lovely British ballerina, [name_u]Darcey[/name_u] Bussell, if that helps at all😊

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_u]Darcey[/name_u]. It’s the most familiar to me because of [name_u]Darcey[/name_u] Bussell, and I just like how balanced it looks.

For you, I’d probably recommend [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] as it looks like it’s far and away the most common spelling where you are.

Visually I think [name_f]Darcie[/name_f] is my favorite, but I’d personally be inclined to go with [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] just for the ease of it since it’s so much more widely-used.
