Hello everyone! I have searched high and low for a boy first name that I like. I need some help! (I’m not currently pregnant, still working on getting my ducks in order!)
My girl first name is [name_f]Lilith[/name_f], which is considered “dark” because it’s associated with a demon, who actually just wanted to be treated equal to men. (Yay, feminism!)
I like the symmetry of choosing a boy name with a similar meaning… I would like a name for someone (real, mythical, or biblical) who was deemed “evil” in their day, but can now be seen as “revolutionary,” like Lilith… If possible.
If I stick with the “dark” theme, the only names that comes to mind are: [name_m]Lucifer[/name_m] and [name_m]Damien[/name_m]. I don’t like either of those… I found a list of “Evil, Vampire, and Demon” names and I don’t like any of those either:

I am open to all cultures and languages! I’ve actually tried to translate specific words to see if something can be used as a name. The most “appropriate” for my kid would be German, Luxembourg, or Irish… But really I’m ok with anything, if I like how it sounds and I like the meaning.

I wish I could do [name_m]Orpheus[/name_m] (I like O names) but I always read it as “orifice” I also like [name_m]Killian[/name_m] but my last name has a K sound… My niece’s first name starts with K and I don’t like the flow of her name, due to our last name

My boy middle name is [name_m]Jacob[/name_m]-[name_m]Lincoln[/name_m], so I don’t think any first name will have an even flow with the full name… But it’s very meaningful so it’s not changing. And I don’t want either of those as the first name

How about [name_m]Lucian[/name_m], which is reminiscent of [name_m]Lucifer[/name_m]? [name_m]Iago[/name_m] also came to mind and [name_m]Nero[/name_m], an infamous [name_m]Roman[/name_m] emperor. [name_m]Asriel[/name_m] is another option - I first came across this in [name_m]Phillip[/name_m] Pullman’s His Dark Materials. [name_u]Jadis[/name_u] from the [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] serious also came to mind.

I’m heavily leaning towards [name_m]Osiris[/name_m] now. I like O names, I like the “god of the dead” meaning, and it has a [name_u]Harry[/name_u] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] vibe
Thank you for the Smurfs reference! It’s almost impossible to know where every name has been used in pop culture lol and if I choose a name, I’d prefer to know of the reference beforehand!! Interestingly, [name_f]Lilith[/name_f] is said to be an evil cat demon, so the fact that a variation of [name_m]Azrael[/name_m] was a mean cat… I really don’t mind it
[name_m]Lucian[/name_m] has been on-and-off my list for over a year. I really can’t pinpoint why I keep taking it off, because I actually do like it I really like that it’s similar to [name_m]Lucifer[/name_m] and [name_m]Lucius[/name_m]. I’ll put it back on my list to consider!
