I like it. It honestly made me think of the little girl in the kid’s movie Finding [name_m]Nemo[/name_m]. I prefer [name_f]Arla[/name_f] but I think if [name_f]Darla[/name_f] has meaning to you, you should use it! [name_f]Darla[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is beautiful!

I know a [name_f]Darla[/name_f] from school, and her name fits her perfectly!

I personally don’t care for the sound of the name, but it’s a perfectly suitable name for a little girl or grown woman.

My first thought was vampire, but I’ve been binge watching [name_f]Buffy[/name_f] the Vampire Slayer, so I’m probably in the minority. Personally, I think the name sounds kind of frilly and too saccharine. I still think it’s usable though.

My first thought goes to [name_f]Darla[/name_f] from the [name_m]Little[/name_m] Rascals, which ruins it a bit for me. However, totally a usable name if you love it!

I too like the name [name_f]Darla[/name_f] and I feel it is much more wearable than Darling, but it does sound a bit cutesy for my liking. I have toyed with the idea of using it as a nickname for [name_f]Darlene[/name_f], yet I’m not so sure I like [name_f]Darlene[/name_f] all that much. Right now it seems like a lot of nickname names are beginning to be used as given names though and I don’t see [name_f]Darla[/name_f] as something crazy enough that people will be shocked by it. I think that a classic middle name balances it out and makes it sound less girlish and more like a name that will age well. Both of your suggestions sound nice with [name_f]Darla[/name_f] although I think [name_f]Darla[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] flows better because it doesn’t have Ls close together like [name_f]Darla[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. So all in all I think [name_f]Darla[/name_f] would most definitely work nowadays! [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps :slight_smile:
