Hello,
What do you think of [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] (we would pronounce it Dah-she-ell, because it’s a [name_m]French[/name_m] name).
What about [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u]?
Thank you!
Hello,
What do you think of [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] (we would pronounce it Dah-she-ell, because it’s a [name_m]French[/name_m] name).
What about [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u]?
Thank you!
I adore [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m]. I have never heard it pronounced Dah-she-ell, only [name_u]DASH[/name_u]-əl or [name_u]DASH[/name_u]-ee-əl. I adore [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u]. I considered [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_u]Gray[/name_u] but preferred [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_u]Gray[/name_u] with [name_m]Fox[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m] with [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m]. [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] is handsome and has some spunk.
I love the name [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m]. It’s one of my top five boy names. [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u] flows very nicely.
I like [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] a lot; it’s growing on me more every day. I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]Dash[/name_u].
I love [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m], but am not brave enough to use it myself
I think if you are going to try to pronounce it differently then most everyone says it, you (and then you child when he gets older), just have to be prepared to correct everyone.
Handsome name…
I’ve always found a bit bland, there’s nothing that excites me about it, mainly because I find [name_u]Dash[/name_u] to be very boring.
I don’t think you can get away pronouncing it differently in an English speaking country, it might be a [name_m]French[/name_m] name, but it’s also an English name that people will pronounce “Dashel”, especially if the middle name and last name are also English.
[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u] flows well and the names fit together, stylistically, but [name_u]Grey[/name_u] doesn’t make my imagery of [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] any less grey.
[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] is a handsome name, it is masculine but super soft sounding imo, which I like! I think it’s a great choice. I’m a big fan of the nickname [name_u]Dash[/name_u]! I think [name_u]Grey[/name_u] flows well, and the suggestion of [name_u]Everett[/name_u] I think would also sound nice as mn
I love [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m]! It’s unusual but with a familiar feel, it is fresh and it has a spunky nickname (I cannot get over [name_u]Dash[/name_u])!
[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u] sounds great!
Thanks for your comments!
Well when I looked at the threads, people say Da-[name_u]Shell[/name_u], Dah-sheel, [name_u]Dash[/name_u]-ul, or Dah-she-ell. There is not one pronunciation that is more used than the others apparently. So I don’t think it’s going to be a problem.
Here are some links to recorded pronunciations of the name. I find them helpful. Some are more clearer than others.
