[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] could be revived soon?
It works well as a one syllable middle name and has a great meaning.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] not sure the sound is appealing. But maybe it feels dated and that’s why.

I doubt it personally but anything could happen! I think it still comes across as dated/stuffy, 70s ish, unlike the reviving names.
Sorry I always seem to say that to your posts!
[name_f]Dawn[/name_f] stands the test of time IMO! I think she is so great! [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] is actually on my short(ish) list for a real baby. 1970s cool
I love it except it sounds like [name_m]Don[/name_m].
I don’t think it will come back soon, but maybe eventually! I could see a 70s hippy revival in a few decades making it seem fresh and cool.
I think parents who like the imagery are probably going for something more like [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] right now. It sounds almost identical to [name_m]Don[/name_m] in my accent as well, making it feel more dated (and kinda masculine?)
It feels a little dated but I could see it getting a revival earlier than the 100 year rule because of the nature name trend and the fact that retro cool also seems to be trending in other aspects of life so the names that go with it could come back around early.
It’s hard to see it coming back but stranger things have happened, it certainly isn’t contentious at all except for being dated. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the meaning and superficially there isn’t anything to stop it but for me it will always be tied to a certain era and certain people and I can’t get past that.
I think it could come back with the boomer/cusp GenX names, when/if they do, like [name_f]Barbara[/name_f], [name_f]Susan[/name_f], [name_f]Christine[/name_f], [name_f]Sally[/name_f], [name_f]Alison[/name_f] etc. In Australia, it’s almost “Dorn” (but work a very soft R). It’s thought of here as a US camp leader name so probably not going to break through any time soon - despite it being a happy, hopeful name!
Maybe not quite yet, but possibly somewhere down the line. I can see it being used as an honour name for grandma Dawns and if people decide they like 60s/70s names in several years time, I can see [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] being a contender (it’s nature-y, short, has nice imagery). [name_u]Or[/name_u], let’s wait forty odd years and people want to honour their mum [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], but they’re looking for something more creative and go from the meaning
I think that [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] definitely could be revived! The name really stands the test of time in my opinion and that makes it a prime candidate for a modern revival! I think the meaning could specifically contribute to a revival, actually, with the popularity of [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and rising trends of one-syllable names.
I think it’s fine to use! I knew a [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] in school and it never seemed out of place on her – she’d be 18/19 now I think. I loved her name!
I like the sound and imagery, and I don’t think it’ll really be confused with “Don” within context.
I love [name_f]Dawn[/name_f]!
I think it’s early yet for true revival but it would still be so fun to meet a little [name_f]Dawn[/name_f].
I don’t really think so. It’s so very 70s trendy.
I actually see [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] as a quite contemporary sounding name! [name_f]My[/name_f] only qualm with it is that it sounds exactly like [name_m]Don[/name_m] in my accent.
