So, I have fallen in love with the name [name]Dax[/name], but i feel it is incomplete. I am thinking about [name]Daxton[/name], [name]Daxter[/name], or Daxwell(favorite), but is it too made up?

I think Daxwell sounds like a bad smoosh…a made-up name. I don’t care for it at all. I have a cousin named [name]Daxton[/name] (we always call him [name]Dax[/name]) and I like it. [name]Dax[/name] is such a great name. I like [name]Daxton[/name] the best out of the ones you listed. What about Daxley? That one doesn’t sound TOO bad. Honestly, I think I just prefer [name]Dax[/name] by itself, paired with a strong, longer middle name.

If [name]Max[/name] can stand alone as a first name, then why not [name]Dax[/name]? Honestly, I think all three of your longer versions just sound made up.
I have a hard time undrestanding why [name]MAXwell[/name] is okay, but DAXwell isnt…its just changing one letter…i actually think ill probably end up going with Daxwell. ONLY bc it is easier to pair middle names with AND i am just not a fan of one syllable first names. I know he will obviously be called DAX, so cant i just make it sound a little more formal on his birth certificate? With this being said i am also VERY open to suggestions

samijo - [name]Maxwell[/name] is an established name. Daxwell is not. Using your argument that a name is okay as long as you are only changing one letter, then the following names don’t sound weird or made up at all: Vennifer, Bophia, Lamantha, Wicheal, Bichard, Naleb … I think you get the idea.
I know a Lamantha…also a Chyritha, [name]Iesha[/name], Jovantee, jabari, Tanechi…Im sorry, but Daxwell is by far better than ANY of those names

Daxwell is weird, sorry for being harsh. It is just too made up, and even though he will be called [name]Dax[/name] he will still get called Daxwell in school.
[name]Daxter[/name] sounds like you meant to spell [name]Dexter[/name]. Out of all of them [name]Daxton[/name] sounds the best, but that is stretching it since it still sounds made up to me.

I think all the names sound a but made up, but especially Daxwell. It reminds of Samwell who its the “What What in the Butt” guy and also snackwell cookies. If I had to choose I actually think [name]Daxter[/name] if the most usable. It’s very reminiscent of [name]Baxter[/name] and [name]Dexter[/name]. [name]Daxton[/name] is a close second. Maybe you could just pair [name]Dax[/name] with another short name and have a double first name like [name]Dax[/name] [name]Aaron[/name], [name]Dax[/name] [name]Kade[/name], or [name]Dax[/name] [name]Michael[/name].
A double first name is a terrible idea. Why not just call him [name]Dax[/name] Well if i were going to do that.

Samijo - I’m going to assume you’re a troll, and I’m going to feed you. You specifically asked if the names sounded made up. You specifically asked if they were “too much.” Now you’re upset that everyone thinks they sound made up. You also asked for our suggestions. And our suggestion was to just use [name]Dax[/name]. If you only wanted everyone to fall down praising Daxwell, you shouldn’t have pretended to want advice.
As for the other horrible names you listed (and I can’t believe you know a Lamantha, since I was trying to make up the weirdest names possible), just because a name is better than something else, doesn’t make it a good name. Oogityboogity is probably a hair better than Hitler or Satan, but it doesn’t make it a good name. I was merely trying to make a point that changing one letter of an established name does not automatically legitimize the new name.

I actually know a little [name]Daxton[/name]. It suits him, but 99% of the time he just goes by [name]Dax[/name]. I think Daxwell and [name]Daxter[/name] are pretty open to being misheard as [name]Maxwell[/name] and [name]Dexter[/name] which could be a problem. Generally I’d be tempted to just go with [name]Dax[/name], but with a one syllable last name, I get why you might want to stretch it out a bit.
You aren’t going to find much love for made up names here, but really, [name]Daxton[/name] is a fairly good one. It’s easy to pronounce and spell, and it doesn’t seem likely that it would lead to teasing. I don’t really see any problem with it.
