Dean for a girl?

In case you decide to go with a longer formal name and use [name_u]Dean[/name_u] as a nickname (along the lines of [name_u]Delaney[/name_u], Eadoin, [name_f]Ondine[/name_f] as suggested above), I thought I might offer a few more options. I’ve tried to include a variety of styles:

[name_u]Aberdeen[/name_u]
[name_f]Adelina[/name_f] (or [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], if you think people will pronounce it with a ‘leen’ sound)
[name_f]Amandine[/name_f]
[name_f]Bernadine[/name_f]
Celandine (I have heard this pronounced to rhyme with both ‘sign’ and ‘seen’ - one might be more common in your area)
[name_f]Delfina[/name_f], [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Dina[/name_f]
[name_f]Doreen[/name_f]
[name_f]Dulcine[/name_f], [name_f]Dulcinea[/name_f]
Everdene, Everdeen, Everdina
[name_f]Geraldine[/name_f]
[name_f]Nadine[/name_f]
[name_f]Willodean[/name_f]

Good luck!

i say go for it! i love it and has such a special meaning to you, she’ll be a proud little girl

Hello! I knew a Deanine when I was a child. Also, there is a famous Canadian named Dini. I think that’s her full name. Deanine, nn [name_f]Deanie[/name_f], is super cute!
While, I don’t mind it as a middle name, especially if honouring someone, I don’t like it as a first name.
Maybe it reminds me of [name_u]Dean[/name_u] Winchester too much.

I’m probably way too late to the conversation, but for all the haters, there are already female Deans out in the world. [name_f]My[/name_f] daughter is [name_u]Dean[/name_u] and she is 24. She gets Deano and is a legend! The name is simple, strong, and cool. Bring on more female Deans!
