How do I get a feminine version of the unisex name [name_u]Dean[/name_u], that would be pronounced Deen-a, not as Dee-anna? Ideas?
I think it’s cute and I like the energetic sound! I’d prefer it spelled [name_f]Dina[/name_f].
That’s what I am talking about, the spelling. But I think [name_f]Dina[/name_f] might get pronounced like [name_f]Dinah[/name_f] instead of Deen-a, which is the pronunciation I would prefer.
I actually know three women/girls named [name_f]Deena[/name_f], I think the pronunciation is clear with this spelling and it looks pretty! I’ve also known a [name_f]Dena[/name_f] pronounced deen-a too if you like that.
Thanks. I rather like the spelling [name_f]Deena[/name_f], I think.
Yeah, at least in [name_u]America[/name_u] you’d need to go with [name_f]Deena[/name_f] I think because otherwise you’d get [name_f]Dinah[/name_f].
I’d spell it [name_f]Deena[/name_f] maybe? Though I had a tutor called [name_f]Deana[/name_f] who said it Dee-nuh so I think it could work
I don’t think [name_f]Dina[/name_f] would get confused for [name_f]Dinah[/name_f], but I could be wrong. It seems like the most intuitive and visually pleasing spelling to me, but [name_f]Deena[/name_f] would also work.
I would spell it either [name_f]Dinah[/name_f] or [name_f]Dina[/name_f]
[name_f]Deena[/name_f] is probably the only option that will never need clarification. [name_f]Dina[/name_f] also makes total sense and would probably be about 50/50 on people defaulting to what you want or originally saying it like [name_f]Dinah[/name_f] and needing a quick, but easy, correction. I originally read the [name_f]Deana[/name_f] spelling in your title as dee-anna but then realized it might be Dean+a so that spelling could also work because it makes sense but it would probably need corrected most of the time.
It’s a pity about the pronunciation issues. I prefer the [name_f]Deana[/name_f] spelling really. [name_u]Will[/name_u] have to think about that.
my friend is [name_f]Dena[/name_f] pronounced deen-uh
