Sources vary on the pronounciation of this name and I have to address someone called that in a speech soon.
Help?
Oh … and uh, do you like that name? (It’s relevent now right?)

I say it [name_f]Dee[/name_f]-anna. Like [name_f]Diana[/name_f], but with a “dee” instead of “die.”
I agree w/ uniquenamelover, it definitely rings [name_f]Dee[/name_f]-anna for me. And yes, I like it ways better than [name_f]Diana[/name_f] or [name_f]Diane[/name_f].
I say it de-anna. Cute name
I believe Dina is pronounced deen-a
I would say [name_f]Dee[/name_f]-[name_f]Anna[/name_f].
I pronounce it, dee-anna.
I think it’s best to ask the person (or someone who knows her) beforehand to be sure but I pronounce the name as follows:
[name_f]Deanna[/name_f] = dee-anna
[name_f]Dina[/name_f]/[name_f]Dena[/name_f] = dee-nuh
I’d love to do that, but seeing as it’s an honorary thing …
I just can’t believe I had to ask the internet because nobody knew.
But thanks for all your help guys. I think I’m going to try De-anna and hope for the best.
I’m a [name_f]Dina[/name_f]= dee-nuh
[name_f]Deanna[/name_f]= dee-anna
De-anna. [name_f]Deena[/name_f] would be spelled that way or [name_f]Dina[/name_f] like [name_f]Dina[/name_f] [name_u]Merrill[/name_u].
I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] the name, but only because our outstanding veterinarian is named that. Good associations. De is not the prettiest nickname though.
[name_f]Deanna[/name_f] is dee-anna. I wouldn’t say dee-nuh unless it was [name_f]Deena[/name_f] or [name_f]Dena[/name_f].
All of the [name_f]Deanna[/name_f]'s I’ve ever met have been dee-anna. I’ve never heard of dean-uh used in real life (but I have heard of it on the internet).
One of my aunts is named [name_f]Deanna[/name_f] but she pronounces it “[name_u]Dean[/name_u]-ah”. Whenever I see it on paper I want to pronounce it [name_f]Dee[/name_f]-anna. She gets really annoyed when people pronounce it that way though.
[name_f]Dee[/name_f]-anna for me too.
I pronounce it dee-anna
[name_u]Dannah[/name_u]? … I’m biased it’s my name but I’ve only met one other! Pronounced: Like [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] w/ a D
I say dee-anna.
