[name]Hi[/name] Berries,
Back in the naming game after i spent the last 2 weeks getting some TLC and dealing with some of the anxiety trouble that was affecting me. My anxiety was through the roof and i couldn’t control it, i even posted on here about it and got some great advice, But now I’m feeling happy and positive and most of all prepared!
Im 33 weeks pregnant and only found out at 27 weeks that I’m getting double my buck because I’m having twins!
It was crazy to find out because i had had 2 previous scans and i was happy to allow students to perform them, under the watch of my OBGYN of course, having been a student studying teaching i know how beneficial hands on experience can be so I’ve always been that kind of person that allows students a chance, wether its at the doctors office or somewhere like a hair salon ect.
Anyway so now we know! After getting this shocking news i decided i had to find out the genders because i felt so unprepared and i wasn’t sure what to do with our nursery, furniture and baby shower ect, and so we discovered we were about to welcome boy/girl twins!
We have been going back and forth for names. I was focused on finding the perfect combo or names that had good symmetry (a previous thread) but we came to the realization that what matters is we choose names we love. So we decided to use [name]Brady[/name] and [name]Lila[/name], our number one choices.
Now we need a middle name for [name]Lila[/name],
Ideally want something longer than [name]Lila[/name]
We don’t want t use names that are too classic or old lady names (and probably not in the top 10)
We like mainly girly and feminine names, but do like the odd unisex name ([name]Riley[/name] [name]Avery[/name] for example, but they don’t go with [name]Lila[/name])
We like cutesy, pretty middle names
We like trendy names
[name]Unique[/name] names like [name]Haven[/name] and [name]Primrose[/name] we can tolerate
But there are unique names that are nameberry favourites that we don’t like such as [name]Wren[/name] [name]Juniper[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]
I don’t want to come across as too picky just trying to help share what we’re looking for.
Please Please if you have any recommendations i would love to hear them.
Im a SAHM to our son who turned two 3 weeks ago but i won’t mention his name because i don’t want that to cloud thoughts. We prefer a name we love rather than a name that matches siblings.
[name]Caroline[/name], [name]Evangeline[/name] not our style.
[name]Noelle[/name], too many L’s with [name]Lila[/name] i think
[name]Jasmine[/name] is a little girl in our mothers group so cannot use
I think [name]Lila[/name] is very pretty, and I am so glad that you have decided on one that you love! My suggestions would be:
[name]Lila[/name] [name]Elaine[/name]
[name]Lila[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Lila[/name] [name]Juliette[/name]
[name]Lila[/name] [name]Coralie[/name]
[name]Lila[/name] [name]Vienne[/name]
or [name]Lila[/name] [name]Reverie[/name].
For some reason I am very drawn to French name combos, perhaps because I generally consider them to be in the girly category. [name]Just[/name] out of curiosity have you decided on a middle for [name]Brady[/name] yet? If I think of anything different I will post more later. Good luck! =]
Oh I really like the PP’s suggestions of [name]Lila[/name] [name]Reverie[/name], [name]Lila[/name] [name]Katherine[/name], [name]Lila[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Lila[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] and [name]Lila[/name] [name]Kate[/name] ([name]LOVE[/name]).
Hey all thank you so much for going out of your way to reply.
I don’t want to come across as rude because i appreciate you writing back but a lot of the names mentioned aren’t our style.
[name]Katherine[/name] [name]Kate[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Samantha[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] [name]Joanne[/name] are all classic names.
Maybe its me not explaining myself correctly?
No we don’t have a middle name fro [name]Brady[/name] yet, i actually posted a pretty identical post for [name]Brady[/name]'s middle name in the boy section.
@ameliajay-- I’m very interested in your story of missed twins. Did you have a formal, hour-long anatomy scan at 20 weeks? Not only is every major fetal structure evaluated, and a few crucial measurements taken to assess the likelihood of certain birth defects, it must be read and interpreted by a radiologist, not just an ob/gyn. I can understand how quick measurements with a handheld ultrasound during routine office visits could potentially miss twins, but I’m really astonished that they were missed in the anatomy scan.
Edit: didn’t want to come across like I’m doubting your story! Just quite interested.
I suppose it’s conceivable that the ultrasound tech put down the probe, bang! found the first fetus, started clicking away calculating all of the measurements, evaluating the heart, etc. She hadn’t been told to look for twins, so she went through the scheduled measurements and views and just stopped there.
[name]Lila[/name] is a great name and I think you’ve made a wonderful choice!
[name]Lila[/name] [name]Grace[/name] suggested above is a lovely combo, but it is the one model [name]Kate[/name] [name]Moss[/name] used for her daughter so I would probably avoid it.
[name]Lila[/name] goes well with some of the colour names and they can often give that trendy, feminine vibe you seem to be after. Also, they tend to be on the long side, so can provide that balance you’re looking for.
[name]Lila[/name] [name]Emerald[/name] sounds very glamourous and fresh to me.
[name]Lila[/name] [name]Scarlet[/name] is similar but may be more palatable if you aren’t after something as unusual as [name]Emerald[/name]
[name]Lila[/name] [name]Indigo[/name]
[name]Gem[/name] name do a similar thing…
[name]Lila[/name] [name]Sapphira[/name]/[name]Sapphire[/name] ([name]Sapphire[/name] means Saphhire)
Otherwise, maybe a middle that honours what a wonderful surprise she was?
[name]Theodora[/name] means gift from god, not sure if it is a little old lady for you?
[name]Tabia[/name] is a bit more unusual and means talents/gifts
@[name]Blade[/name] No i did not have the full anatomy scan. [name]One[/name] scan at 10 weeks and another at 16 weeks. [name]Ive[/name] been having problems with insurance so as terrible as it is i wasn’t able to get that scan during the 18-22 week period. I actually only found out after i was having some complications and finally went to the hospital, i actually was petrified i was having a miscarriage. The emergency doctor asked how far along i was and i told her and then she said you further along than that, your fundus (sp?) is too high then she ordered an ultrasound because she thought i had placenta previa. During it my husband asked is the baby was fine, to which she replied the babies are fine, good measurements and heartbeats. We were both just like babies?? The doctor couldn’t believe we didn’t know.
So not only was it stressful to just find out the news the way in which it eventuated impacted the stress and anxiety even more.
I have actually been surprised at how small i am, not smaller than usual but i thought/assumed with twins you’d be sooo much bigger and I’m not. The only thing i did notice was that early on the tummy did come pretty early but i just thought it was because its my second pregnancy and i could really notice the difference because I’m usually in pretty good shape, my tummy has never been my problem area! Looking back throughout the pregnancy i didn’t feel or look much different than the first.
[name]Daisy[/name] and [name]Tulip[/name] are great! Am i brave enough for tulip though?
I actually rather like [name]Autumn[/name], something poetic about [name]Lila[/name] [name]Autumn[/name], but we like in southern hemisphere, opp side of the world so we are in spring heading into summer so would be odd to name her that.
[name]Scarlett[/name] and [name]Sienna[/name] are also right up our alley.
Thanks everyone
