Derivatives from your own name

What names that come from/are related to your own names would you name your kid if you weren’t named your own name?
I really like [name_f]Olive[/name_f] but would never be able to get away with naming a kid that!
Interested to read yours

I think [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] is the only (sorta) variant of my name that I actually like, although I don’t think I would use it even if it weren’t a variation of my name

As a [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] I’d probably have to say [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], doesn’t come directly from my name but they both stem from the Old High [name_m]German[/name_m] element hros (which later migrated to english as the word horse). Fun fact of the day

As a [name_f]Keely[/name_f] I think a lot of K names would get some eyebrow raises.

Girls:

[name_f]Kayla[/name_f]
[name_f]Kylie[/name_f]
[name_f]Kerry[/name_f]
[name_f]Kelsey[/name_f]

Boys:

[name_m]Keegan[/name_m]
[name_m]Kelly[/name_m]
[name_m]Keane[/name_m]

As a [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f]:

Katherine/Catherine

[name_f]My[/name_f] S/O and I have joked about using [name_m]Helenus[/name_m] for a boy a lot, to the point I would actually consider it as a middle name maybe.

[name_f]Helena[/name_f], [name_f]Ellen[/name_f], and [name_f]Elena[/name_f] / [name_f]Elina[/name_f] are also strong contenders, but I’m a [name_f]Helen[/name_f] who was named for a [name_f]Helen[/name_f] (my grandma, who was named for an [name_f]Ellen[/name_f], with a long line of [name_f]Helen[/name_f] derivatives before her) and I would pick one to honour my namesake moreso than myself, but I also don’t want to have a kiddo with too similar a name to myself so those would possibly just middles.

I also really like [name_f]Lenore[/name_f] and [name_f]Lenora[/name_f]! Not too close to my name, but definitely derivatives I might actually use.

I might like [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] if it wasn’t for my own name. [name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_f]Sanne[/name_f] is also kind of cute.

Based on my middle, [name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_f]Lenore[/name_f], [name_f]Elora[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f], [name_f]Leonora[/name_f]

If my name was not [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], I would have [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], and [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] on my long lists.

I think I’d really like [name_f]Valya[/name_f] on a boy if it wasn’t a nickname for my name too!

I’d probably use [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f], [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] or Tess/a since it’s not too obvious unless if you rearrange the letters

[name_f]My[/name_f] irl name: [name_f]Lilac[/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] online name: Maevelynn

I go by [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] but my name is [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], so there are a few!
[name_f]Sarai[/name_f]
[name_f]Sadia[/name_f]
[name_f]Sally[/name_f]

[name_f]Agnes[/name_f]
[name_f]Agnieszka[/name_f]
[name_f]Annis[/name_f]
[name_f]Anya[/name_f]
[name_f]Annie[/name_f]

Maybe [name_m]Asher[/name_m] or [name_f]Aislinn[/name_f]? I don’t love either enough to use them, though. I do like a name very similar to my middle, but I don’t think that’s really a big deal since my middle is hardly ever used.

I don’t know if they’re derivatives, but they are similar so…

[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Alyssa[/name_f]
[name_f]Allie[/name_f]
[name_f]Alicia[/name_f] (pronounced al-lee-see-ah or ah-leesh-ah)

And ones I wouldn’t use because I’m not really a fan:

[name_f]Alicia[/name_f] (pronounced ahl-ish-ah)
[name_f]Felicia[/name_f]

[name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], and I wouldn’t really ever be able to use a lot of ‘Anne’ names. The one I really like is [name_f]Ana[/name_f] (Aw-na) although it really is removed enough from my name, sound-wise, to use it
