Desperatley seeking sister name for Cecilia

Here are our major contenders:

[name]Sylvie[/name] (Is it too similar?)
[name]Stella[/name] (Have always loved, but is it growing too popular?)
[name]Laurel[/name]
[name]Lucia[/name] ([name]Just[/name] wondering how people are likely to pronounce it

I also love [name]Mae[/name], [name]Rosemary[/name] (for the nn [name]Romy[/name]) and [name]Roxanne[/name] (
I forgot Miriam and my favorite, sweet Josephine, which my husband would need to warm to.

I’m very open to other suggestions and would love your feedback!! What do you all think?!

[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Rosemary[/name] is my favourite. [name]Sylvie[/name] and [name]Stella[/name] seem a bit too hissy with [name]Cecilia[/name] and there seem to be too many C sounds with [name]Lucia[/name] as well (which I prn loo-SEE-ah). [name]Laurel[/name] is nice, but not something I’d use up front. [name]Rosemary[/name] is perfect, though, and the nn [name]Romy[/name] works really well. I like [name]Lux[/name] with [name]Cecilia[/name] also, but maybe a bit too ‘The Virgin Suicides’.

Good luck, and congratulations.

[name]Ah[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]. [name]One[/name] of my favorite names,

[name]Sylvie[/name]- To be honest, I like [name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Sylvia[/name] together. Very distinct combination, both unique but definitely similar styles. Delicate and pretty. I think it goes very well with [name]Cecilia[/name].

[name]Stella[/name]- I’ve always hated [name]Stella[/name] but that’s just a preference. Taking my bias aside, there are so many -ella names, and it is in the Top 100. Not my favorite choice.

[name]Laurel[/name]- I just think of a tree. It has a pretty sound but it doesn’t feel “classic” in the same way that your other choices do.

[name]Lucia[/name] ([name]Just[/name] wondering how people are likely to pronounce it)- [name]Lovely[/name], feminine name. I think it pairs FANTASTICALLY with [name]Cecilia[/name]. I instinctively say Loo-see-uh, but according to nameberry, that’s not correct.

[name]Mae[/name]- Pretty, and I like it a lot with [name]Cecilia[/name]. I prefer [name]May[/name], however. Seems more substantial for some reason.

[name]Rosemary[/name]- I like this a lot and think it has a nice, old-fashioned quality to it that [name]Cecilia[/name] shares. However, I’ve heard other people say they hate it and immediately associate it with the herb. [name]Romy[/name] is an adorable nickname that I actually think could stand on its own and I hate nickname names.

[name]Roxanne[/name]- Hate it. Immediately think of the song and its negative connotations.

[name]Sylvie[/name]- I don’t like this name or [name]Sylvia[/name]. But that’s just my opinion. I think that [name]Sylvie[/name] is too nicknamey sounding compared to [name]Cecilia[/name].

[name]Stella[/name]- I think the style of this is too different from [name]Cecilia[/name] to make a good sibset.

[name]Laurel[/name]- I think the feel of this name is similar to [name]Cecilia[/name]. It could work, but there's just something about it...

[name]Lucia[/name] - I know a girl named [name]Lucia[/name], she pronounces it Loo-see-ah. Anyway, I see this name making a better sibset with [name]Stella[/name] than [name]Cecilia[/name].

[name]Mae[/name]- Nice, but seems a bit lacking when compared to [name]Cecilia[/name].

[name]Rosemary[/name]- I like this one the best with [name]Cecilia[/name]. I think it has that same feel to it that [name]Cecilia[/name] has. It's lacy, delicate and nicely vintaged.

[name]Roxanne[/name]- [name]Way[/name] too trendy to fit with [name]Cecilia[/name].

[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Josephine[/name] are so perfect together, it’s a shame your husband isn’t okay with [name]Josephine[/name]. Is there any way to talk him into it? I loved seeing [name]Lucia[/name] as well, but I would pronounce it Loo-Chee-Uh unlike the other posters, but I’ve mainly heard it as an Italian name and that’s how I was taught to pronounce it. [name]How[/name] do you pronounce it?

Funny you should ask - Because of our heritage, I am inclined to say [name]Lu[/name]-See-a, and my Husband [name]Lu[/name]-Chee-a. I’ve also heard Loo-sha in our area. I might shy away from the name, although it’s beautiful, because of this confusion.

I’ve always liked [name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Imogen[/name] together. [name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Romy[/name] sounds sweet.

I like [name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Stella[/name] and [name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Sylvie[/name] the best. wdyt of:

[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Clara[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Meredith[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Bryony[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Gemma[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Jessamy[/name] ([name]Jessamine[/name])

[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Rosemary[/name] or [name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Laurel[/name] are my favorites.

[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Louisa[/name]

Thank you for your help. Very nice - I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Bryony[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] too

I really like [name]Cecilia[/name] with [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Cecilia[/name] with [name]Romy[/name] (super cute!).

Growing up there were two sisters in my neighborhood, [name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Genevieve[/name] and I thought that was a great pairing of names.

Funny because just by the title I thought [name]Lucia[/name] in my head! Then I read your post and see its on your list! I have always thought [name]Cecelia[/name] and [name]Lucia[/name] were PERFECTION together. However, I’m italian and our pronunciation is [name]Lu[/name]-chee-uh and Thats the only pronunciation I like. [name]Lu[/name]-see-uh with [name]Cecelia[/name] I think is too C heavy.

[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Esme[/name]/[name]Esmae[/name]

[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Nadia[/name]

[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Milly[/name]

[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Amber[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Greta[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Portia[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Joya[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Esther[/name]

[name]Just[/name] a few ideas that came to mind
