My wife and I are kicking around names. We’ve narrowed it down to [name]Devon[/name] and [name]Delia[/name] (we’re looking for a D name).
[name]Do[/name] people have any strong opinions between the two?
THANKS!

[name]Delia[/name] for sure!
Thanks! Is that reaction because you like [name]Delia[/name], or don’t like [name]Devon[/name]?
Anyone feel differently?
Thanks!
Definitely [name]Delia[/name]! It is sweet and adorable on a little girl, but will age well and is sassy and unexpected on a grown woman.
[name]Devon[/name] feels terribly dated and overdone.
[name]Delia[/name].
Mostly because I think of [name]Devon[/name] as a boy’s name.
[name]Devon[/name] has a nice sound to it, but on paper she would probably get mistaken for a boy. It does seem a little bit dated to me, as well. So here’s another vote for [name]Delia[/name]. I think it’s charming, pretty, and underused
I think that [name]Devon[/name] is a boy’s name.
I prefer [name]Delia[/name] as well. But if you’re looking for other D-names, you might also consider [name]Damaris[/name], [name]Diana[/name], [name]Danica[/name], or [name]Dahlia[/name].
Oh, I prefer [name]Delia[/name] infinitely more than [name]Devon[/name]. [name]Devon[/name] seems dated and boring to me, whereas [name]Delia[/name] is unusual, interesting, spunky, fun to say, and beautiful!
[name]Delia[/name]! It’s lovely! [name]Devon[/name] is a boy’s name; I don’t understand the trend of using boy’s names on girls. All it will cause is problems for her.
Thanks everyone- absolute consistency in the responses!
I guess I should mention that [name]Delia[/name] is one of my top 3 girls names, so I’m a little biased.
[name]Delia[/name] deffinatly!
My husbands name is [name]Devin[/name], and while -in is the masculine form of the name and -on is the fememine i think the whole name is very masculine sounding. And the one girl devon i knew was a huge b*tch. So im slightly biased i guess
Coming straight from a female [name]Devon[/name] (24 years old) … choose [name]Delia[/name]! It’s not that I dont like my name, I do, its just that I always wished I had a more feminine name. I get “isnt that a boys name” quiet often, and people assume I’m male on paper, which is annoying. As someone with a unisex name, I always told myself growing up that when I have children, their names are going to be gender specific.
[name]Hope[/name] that helps!
[name]Devon[/name]
Another vote for [name]Delia[/name], [name]Devon[/name] isn’t bad but it is a tad bit dated, at least imo, and [name]Delia[/name] is so sweet and unique but not unusual
I think [name]Devon[/name] is great! I’ve never met a girl named [name]Devon[/name] but I’d be jealous if I did.
[name]Delia[/name]. It’s cute and unusual. [name]Devon[/name] is just cheesy on a girl, not cute, or pretty.
[name]Delia[/name] by far.
My vote goes to [name]Devon[/name]. I feel like [name]Delia[/name] is the dated name and not [name]Devon[/name]. Give her a more feminine middle name and her gender will be 100% clear.
I do think [name]Devon[/name] is pretty on a girl.
Definitely [name]Delia[/name]! It’s a lovely name. As for [name]Devon[/name], I think of this as a boy’s name. Also, when used as a girl’s name it sounds dated to me, as I have known several female [name]Devon[/name]'s born in the late 80’s and early 90’s.
