Dewey as an nn for Duncan

I really love the name [name_m]Dewey[/name_m] but I don’t feel comfortable giving it as a full name as it seems too cutesy for a grown man. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you guys think [name_m]Duncan[/name_m] is a good full name for [name_m]Dewey[/name_m], or is it too far fetched? Should it be spelled Duey? Thanks

I think [name_m]Dewey[/name_m] for [name_m]Duncan[/name_m] is a little too forced since the only sound shared is the D at the beginning. I do think [name_m]Dewey[/name_m] is a much better spelling than Duey.

[name_m]Dewey[/name_m] is traditionally a nickname for [name_m]David[/name_m] (for…some reason), so if you’re looking for a longer full name, you could always go with that.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

I think it’s adorable, & works great w/your crew. [name_m]Desmond[/name_m] is another option. I’ve heard [name_m]Dewey[/name_m] as a nn for [name_m]Dwight[/name_m] too, but that’s not as nice in my opinion.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

It’s a stretch, but it could definitely work! [name_m]Dewey[/name_m] is adorable.

I think it could work

I don’t really see any link between [name_m]Duncan[/name_m] and [name_m]Dewey[/name_m] apart from the letter D.

I’d just like to throw [name_m]Dewi[/name_m] out here. [name_m]Dewi[/name_m] is pronounced Deh-wee so just a bit slightly different to [name_m]Dewey[/name_m]. It is the Welsh form of [name_m]David[/name_m], and is very popular on grown men here in [name_m]Wales[/name_m].

[name_m]Duncan[/name_m] is handsome though, and despite the lack of connection [name_m]Dewey[/name_m] could still be a cutesy nickname.

It works. You can also call him Dunk.
