I love the nickname [name]Di[/name], I think it’s really cute. I also like the name [name]Dianna[/name] and find it oddly cute. Problem is that I have a family member with the name that I’m not particularly fond off so I was looking for alternatives.
So what you do you think? What are some names that could have the nickname [name]Di[/name]?
Well my name is [name]Diana[/name] and I know another [name]Diana[/name]. I always preferred the 1 n, 2 just seems redundant. Plus [name]Diana[/name] is the original spelling.
Other ideas:
[name]Diane[/name]
[name]Dianthe[/name]
[name]Dionne[/name]
[name]Dionna[/name]
[name]Dior[/name]
If you’re out there:
[name]Diamond[/name] - what I almost was named, thankfully I wasn’t!!!
[name]Dinah[/name] was the first thing that came to mind here, too.
For what it’s worth, I actually like the [name]Dianna[/name] spelling. I’d never heard of it until I started watching Glee (the actress who plays [name]Quinn[/name] has her name spelled that way), but it’s one of the few variants that I like better than the original name. I guess part of it is that I like ‘[name]Anna[/name]’ and so it seems like a subtle combo-name to me, and it avoids the ‘ana’ fragment that has negative connotations to me.
I like [name]Dido[/name] as an alternative. Some [name]Di[/name] names are pronounced with a “[name]Dee[/name]” sound, (Like [name]Dionne[/name]) so you’d want to avoid those, I think.
It might be a stretch, but I love [name]Dia[/name] as a nickname for [name]Lydia[/name], so I can see [name]Di[/name] being a nickname for [name]Lydia[/name] or [name]Lydie[/name] (Is [name]Lydie[/name] a name?) as well.
