It has always been the case for me that my taste in girls names and my choice in boys has always been very different, e.g. My current signature shows the difference clearly-
Mythical/somewhat elaborate girls- [name_f]Hermione[/name_f], [name_f]Isadora[/name_f], [name_f]Pandora[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Calliope[/name_f]
Vintage/kinda classic?/Celtic boys- [name_m]Gulliver[/name_m], [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m], [name_m]Otis[/name_m], [name_m]Elwood[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m], [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]
Would you notice greatly if a sibset comprised of boys and girls with greatly different styles of names? Is the divide less obvious because it’s between genders?
I don’t think it is all that noticeable, especially since the different styles are for different genders. If it were some thing like [name_m]John[/name_m] for a boy and he had a sister named [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] or [name_u]James[/name_u] or some traditionally boy name, than it would be pretty noticeable. But I don’t think it sounds odd with your different gender styles.
It would be more of an issue if you were mixing within gender - [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] and [name_u]Riley[/name_u] or [name_m]Linus[/name_m] and [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] would be problematic. It might also seem odd to have a [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] and [name_u]Noah[/name_u].
