I think [name]Dima[/name] comes most naturally, but also looks a little… feminine in my opinion. [name]May[/name] i suggest [name]Trey[/name], as in tri->trio->[name]Trey[/name]? I know someone with a similar name who goes by this.

Mitri would probably come most naturally to me, but if [name]Dima[/name] is what’s traditionally used I’d go with that.

I love [name]Dimitri[/name] and definitely don’t think it needs a nn! I don’t see how it’s a mouth full at all.

I don’t think [name]Dimitri[/name] needs a nickname but it sounds like your family are very insistent! I voted for [name]Dima[/name], but Mitri is a very close second. I think that [name]Dima[/name] would 'age better’as a nickname though

Our little boy is 2 months old and as much as I [name]ADORE[/name] his name, [name]Dimitri[/name] [name]David[/name], everyone is going crazy trying to find a decent nickname for him. Apparently [name]Dimitri[/name] is too much of a mouth full for some Americans On seperate occasions I have over heard both sides of our family discussing possible nicknames for him since [name]Dimitri[/name] is so hard…ugh. I insist that his name is [name]Dimitri[/name] and he doesn’t need a nickname, but my family has taken it in their own hands now and are calling him “Double D” which according to my older brother who coined it, is the best break dancing name ever, lol. Unfortunately, I am not fond of my son being referred to as a bra size. I want to have a ready nickname to offer anyone who ever tries calling him this again.

I’ve tried calling him Mitri, Petrie ([name]Land[/name] Before Time, anyone?), [name]Tri[/name] (tree), [name]Dima[/name], and Dimas. I’m leaning toward [name]Dima[/name] since it’s the most natural fit considering that is the “official” Russian nickname for [name]Dimitri[/name]. I have also tried calling him “D” but it doesn’t work since we have a popular aunt named [name]Dee[/name].

What are your opinions? [name]Do[/name] you find any of those cuter than others? Can you think of anything else?

I’m a little late with this I’m sure you’ve already landed on a nickname by now but I thought I’d throw my two cents in anyways. [name_m]Dima[/name_m] is pretty much the official nickname but some people use “[name_m]Dimka[/name_m]” for [name_m]Dimitri[/name_m] if they are very familiar with this person like say family or close friends. So you could have two different nicknames for him varying in familiarity…Some people might find [name_m]Dimka[/name_m] too harsh sounding tho but I’ve grown very fond of the sound.
