Do Annistyn and Maddison rhyme?

Hypothetical

I really like the name [name_f]Annistyn[/name_f] but I’m worried it rhymes with my name [name_f]Maddison[/name_f]. Does it or am I hearing it wrong.

Well technically they don’t rhyme but they do share a lot of similar sound which makes it sound like they’re rhyming. [name_f]Imo[/name_f] they are a little close but they could still work :).

I don’t think they would work for sisters, but for mother and daughter it should be just fine.

It’s a slant rhyme, which is the official way of denoting words which are very close to rhyming. But not quite rhyming.

Like Gracky said, the two names are probably a little too close for sisters. But it would be kind of fun to have near rhyming mother and daughter names. And a nickname like [name_f]Annie[/name_f] or [name_f]Anissa[/name_f] is different enough from [name_f]Maddy[/name_f] if one or the other wants a little differentiation.

By the way, I like [name_f]Anissa[/name_f] a lot. It would be a good choice if you wanted the sound similar to [name_f]Annistyn[/name_f].

What this is in a near rhyme/slant rhyme. They don’t completely rhyme but they are very matchy. I don’t think that is a dealbreaker for mom and daughter, maybe too much for sisters, but otherwise it’s fine.
