Naming the second is HARD! Husband and I are struggling. We have daughter [name_u]Avery[/name_u], and are considering [name_u]Maria[/name_u] for baby girl #2. Are the name styles complimentary or different?
I would say they are different, but not so different that itâs odd in any way! Plus, Iâm a big fan of âmismatchedâ sib sets
Reminds me of the song ave mariaâŚ
Other ideas:
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] & [name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] & [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] & [name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] & [name_f]Elena[/name_f]
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] & [name_f]Lara[/name_f]
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] & [name_f]Christina[/name_f]
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] & [name_f]Macy[/name_f]
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] & [name_u]Madison[/name_u]
Hahaha me as well! But not in a bad way I donât think
They are different, but not in a bad way! I would also suggest [name_f]Mara[/name_f].
To be perfectly honest, I donât think that Avery and Maria âmatchâ as siblings.
However, thatâs not the end of the world, and thereâs nothing objectively wrong with âmismatchedâ sibsets. If Maria is the name, I say go for it. Lots of siblings have names that donât âmatchâ and there is absolutely no rule anywhere saying that sibling names should match.
Avery and Maria are both lovely names, by the way.
But if it does bother you that they may not âmatchâ and youâd like other options, hereâs a few names you might like that are similar to Maria but match Avery a little more (at least in my opinion):
- Avery & Aria
- Avery & Maya
- Avery & Marian
- Avery & Mariah
- Avery & Maren
I feel they are too different stylistically but it may not bother you. You have had a lot of good suggestions.
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] and
[name_u]Darcy[/name_u]
[name_f]Emily[/name_f]
[name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_f]Maura[/name_f]
[name_u]Piper[/name_u]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_u]Sydney[/name_u]
[name_f]Maren[/name_f] is my absolute #1!!! but my husband isnât sold. Iâm trying to find something of a similar vibe/meaning (star of the sea)
Not to push (since your so isnât ) but [name_u]Avery[/name_u] and [name_f]Maren[/name_f] would be STUNNING!!! Both gn but undeniably feminine, and effortlessly cool
Other âoceanyâ âstarryâ names:
[name_f]Jenna[/name_f]
[name_f]Maelyn[/name_f]
[name_u]Seren[/name_u]
Bryliegh
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
I donât think sibling sets need to go together , as eventually when they are adults most people wonât know their relatives
I think [name_u]Avery[/name_u] is a little more popular than [name_u]Maria[/name_u] is at the moment . However [name_u]Maria[/name_u] is certainly timeless and elegant , and international.
I do love the suggestion of [name_u]Avery[/name_u] and [name_f]Maren[/name_f] or [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] . And I think [name_u]Marley[/name_u] and [name_u]Avery[/name_u] are sweet together
I donât think they go together (stylistically quite different and all), but I do love them together!! I love a mismatched sibset.
I think itâs fine to use [name_u]Avery[/name_u] and [name_u]Maria[/name_u] even though they are a bit different style. They donât grate and I think you should choose what you love! If you are looking for more suggestions maybe you would like [name_f]Marina[/name_f], meaning âfrom the seaâ.
Not in a bad way at all! I think [name_u]Avery[/name_u] and [name_u]Maria[/name_u] are very different, but they would make perfect sisters!
Tbh they sound very mismatched but I love [name_u]Maria[/name_u] so maybe itâs not a big issue. Who cares anyway
They donât âmatchâ as sibling names, but there isnât anything wrong with that, sibling names donât always have to go well together.
complimentary LOVE IT!
Theyâre very different stylistically, but you could make it work
As soon as I saw this question I started singing ave [name_u]Maria[/name_u]
Anyways moving away from that gorgeous music connotation I think [name_u]Avery[/name_u] & [name_u]Maria[/name_u] are a little mismatched. There are not a cohesive sibling set. They do feel a bit random. However I donât think you necessarily have to have cohesion with a sibling set. There is nothing wrong with [name_u]Robert[/name_u] & [name_f]Blakelynn[/name_f] for example. Of course they feel mismatched as [name_u]Robert[/name_u] is very traditional whereas [name_f]Blakelynn[/name_f] is a modern smoosh name of course [name_u]Robert[/name_u] & [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] sound better together but if the parent loves the name [name_f]Blakelynn[/name_f] they should go for it. Thatâs a very similar thought process to you with [name_u]Avery[/name_u] & [name_u]Maria[/name_u] if you love [name_u]Maria[/name_u] go for it.
I do prefer [name_f]Maren[/name_f] in general and I think [name_f]Maren[/name_f] works wonders with [name_u]Avery[/name_u] a very stylish sibling set
