[name_m]Just[/name_m] by coincidence, I find myself loving girl names that begin with A ([name_f]Alyssa[/name_f], [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], [name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_u]Aubrey[/name_u], [name_f]Alana[/name_f], [name_f]Angelina[/name_f]) and boy names that begin with M ([name_u]Mason[/name_u], [name_m]Myles[/name_m], [name_u]Micah[/name_u], [name_m]Milo[/name_m], [name_m]Maddox[/name_m]). It’s irritating because I don’t want my children to share the first letter of their name but, if my style stays the same when I get pregnant in the future, it looks like they will!
It’s not done on purpose at all and I only really noticed it once I put my favourites in alphabetical order.
Anyone else find themselves loving a lot of names that begin with the same letter? Is it irritating for anyone else or have they embraced it and used it as a sibset trend?
I think this has been discussed in another thread, but I like a lot of names that start with C. [name_u]Casey[/name_u], [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Corey[/name_u], [name_u]Cody[/name_u], [name_m]Callum[/name_m], [name_m]Cormac[/name_m], etc. All are appealing to me, but I probably wouldn’t consider actually using more than a few. And certainly not together as a sib-set.
I have a lot of favourite names that start with A, P, and M. But the names on my list staring with M and A, while being a lot more than the Ps, are more spread out. Whereas the four P names on my list are really high on my list; as in [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] is my fave girls name, and [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] and [name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m] are my 2nd and 3rd favourite boys names. Although I don’t really mind having the P names together, since they happen to have different sounds when said out load.
Yes!!! And this is a huge issue for me because I desperately don’t any of my children to have the same initials (everyone in my family but me is MG and I’m by myself as an LG - sad times).
For girls I have loads of A ([name_f]Arianwen[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Annabel[/name_f], [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]) and V ([name_f]Verity[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f]).
For boys it’s D ([name_m]Damon[/name_m], [name_u]Dean[/name_u], [name_m]Dimitri[/name_m]).
For both I have C ([name_m]Christian[/name_m], [name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_f]Celia[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Cora[/name_f]) E ([name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_m]Evander[/name_m] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] [name_f]Evanna[/name_f] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]) F ([name_f]Fleur[/name_f], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_m]Fabian[/name_m], Finnick) and J ([name_f]Juliette[/name_f] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u]).
For girls it’s S names, which is funny because my name starts with an S. I love [name_f]Sybil[/name_f], [name_f]Signe[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f], [name_f]Saffron[/name_f], [name_f]Sally[/name_f], [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], [name_f]Saga[/name_f], [name_u]Sloane[/name_u], and [name_f]Serenity[/name_f].
For boys I don’t think it happens so much. I [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] and [name_m]Winston[/name_m], and [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] an [name_m]Milo[/name_m], [name_m]Cecil[/name_m] and [name_m]Calvin[/name_m], [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] and [name_m]Angus[/name_m], but they don’t go much farther than that.
